--By default, your Google account automatically takes a backup of all your contact on a frequent basis. You have to make sure that the auto backup option is enabled. If it isn't, turn on the backup and wait for the phone to sync it to your Google Drive.
You Contacts app will save all of your contacts as a VCF file on your phone. You'll now need to copy or move the VCF file to your new Android. You can do this by connecting your devices to a PC and copying the file to the new device, or by sharing the file using a cloud service like Google Drive.
Check Contacts to Display
Open the Contacts app. Click 3 horizontal lines from the top of the screen. Tap on Settings and then Contacts to display. Enable All contacts option.
Usually, the contacts get sync automatically if your Google account is linked with your Android smartphone. But just in case the contacts have not been synced yet, try syncing your contacts manually. And it might help in contacts to show up.
Go to: More > Settings > Contacts to Display. Your settings should be set to All contacts or use Customized list and turn on all the options to enable more contacts to be visible from within the app.
Sync contacts on your Android to Google
On your Android phone, go to Settings > Choose Account > Sign in with your Google account and toggle on Sync Contacts. Then, the backup will start automatically.

In order to see your contact list in the internal storage of your Android device, you just need to enter: /data/data/com. Android. providers. contacts/databases/contacts.

Plug in both phones with a cable if using one, or to charge if sending data wirelessly. Open the Smart Switch app on both phones, the app can be downloaded from the Google Play store if it isn't pre-installed. Go to Settings > Smart Switch on the new phone. Select Transfer data and click on Continue.
Does a SIM card hold contacts? In the past, a SIM card could hold up to 250 contacts. However, most modern phones store your contacts in cloud storage or on the device itself.
It stores your phone plan and phone number, as well as all your photos, texts, contacts, and apps. In most cases, you can pop your SIM card out of an old phone and into a new one to transfer your photos, apps, etc.
Inserting a SIM is optional, but you'll have to connect to a Wi-Fi network to restore your phone wirelessly. So select that to land on the screen in which you'll see an option to copy your apps & data. Keep your old device along with a USB cable handy for the next step, and select Next.
Open Settings app on your Samsung phone and tap Accounts and backup. Choose Backup and restore or Samsung Cloud to move on. Tap Restore data and highlight Contacts (saved on phone) option. Choose Restore to restore contacts on Samsung.

To choose the Google Account you want to restore, tap From account. Tap the phone with the contacts you want to copy. To choose which sources of contacts you want to copy, turn on or off SIM card or Device storage. Tap Restore and wait until you get "Contacts restored."
