Michael Myers started killing because he's a vessel of pure evil, driven by an innate, inexplicable need to kill, often focusing on his family (especially his sister Laurie) in various timelines, though the original film presents him as simply a force of nature with no real motive beyond murder, a concept John Carpenter preferred. In sequels, he was given a "Curse of Thorn" in some versions, compelling him to slaughter his bloodline, but at his core, he's a blank, emotionless killer.
Basically, Michael killed his sister Judith because of a curse that was placed on him. A weirdo doctor thought it would be chill to cast this curse, even though it results in death and chaos over a long course of time. Michael simply serves as a killing machine to keep the cult of thorn thriving.
Michael Myers is a character from the slasher film series Halloween. He first appears in John Carpenter's 1978 feature film Halloween as a young boy who murders his elder sister, Judith Myers. Fifteen years later, he returns home to Haddonfield, Illinois, to murder more teenagers.
Jason is motivated by rage and vengeance. Michael, however, doesn't need to have a motive. He's evil and he derives some twisted form of pleasure and amusement in stalking and killing victims. Jason can be a somewhat sympathetic character because he was made into a monster by the tragedies in his life.
Plot. On Halloween night in 2018, after being stabbed and left to die by Dr. Ranbir Sartain, Frank Hawkins is found by Cameron Elam, who calls an ambulance. Hawkins regrets allowing Michael to live, and vows to kill him.
There's no single "dumbest" horror movie, but common contenders known for being hilariously bad, nonsensical, or poorly made include Manos: The Hands of Fate, Birdemic: Shock and Terror, and Troll 2, often cited for their terrible acting, writing, and low-budget effects, while films like Jaws: The Revenge and sequels like Jason X or Leprechaun in the Hood make lists for being absurd or cheap cash-ins, alongside B-movies with ridiculous concepts like killer turkeys or gingerbread men.
Laurie Was Michael's Other Sister
What made Michael Myers so terrifying in 1978's Halloween was that he didn't have a reason to go after Laurie; he simply saw her and chose her as his target. Halloween II made a huge and highly divisive reveal by explaining that Laurie was actually Michael's youngest sister.
This suggests he fears losing the power and fear he wields if others see the human beneath the facade. At his core, despite his immense strength and embodiment of evil, Michael remains, inescapably, a man. Another significant element of Michael's psyche is his attachment to his childhood home.
Jason Voorhees has physical and intellectual disabilities stemming from hydrocephalus, a condition causing an enlarged head and brain fluid buildup, which led to learning disabilities, speech difficulties, and isolation, making him a target for bullies before his infamous drowning and subsequent transformation into a relentless killer in the Friday the 13th series. His disabilities, coupled with trauma, explain his "otherness," lack of speech, and uncanny, machine-like focus on vengeance, though he exhibits surprising skills in tracking and using weapons.
This was the Kill Count with the most amount of deaths (with 376) until Dude Bro Party Massacre III got that award (with 4295 deaths). The last Kill Count with this award was Final Destination (with 292 deaths). This is the second-highest Kill Count, just behind Dude Bro Party Massacre III.
On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six year old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years.
After that night he didn't talk because he wasn't that innocent 6 year old child anymore. He was something, something more, pure evil as Dr Loomis describes. Nothing behind that boys eyes. We further hear Loomis call Michael an "it" throughout the films.
When it came to Myers' persona, the screenwriter said he drew inspiration from several sources, including a patient he met while visiting a psychiatric hospital as a student at Western Kentucky University. "We visited the most serious ... patients,” Carpenter said in Halloween: A Cut Above.
Dressed as a clown for Halloween, Michael crossed the street and watched his sister and her boyfriend kissing before going upstairs to have sex. Taking a knife out of the kitchen drawer and waiting for Judith's boyfriend to leave, Michael then snuck up the stairs and repeatedly stabbed his sister to death.
However, Michael took advantage of Laurie's failings and grabbed his mask in agony, leading her to hesitate for fear of killing another innocent.
In the sequel (1981) it's revealed they are sister and brother, but Laurie never knew about it. In parts 4-6 that story is continued but Laurie had died and Michael goes after Laurie's daughter.
The simplest theory for Jason's nonverbal qualities is that he never developed his ability to talk. He is, by the film's own lore, developmentally disadvantaged, and one of the manifestations of his condition is the inability to speak.
Then there's also Part 8 where he chooses to show his face to scare off the kids rather than killing them. He must know he's hideous. Remake Jason takes the hockey mask because the mannequin raper accidentally ripped open his potato sack during their scuffle.
The witching hour got its name from the assumption that witches cast their spells in the blackness of night when they can go undetected and when the veil between life and death is at its weakest. The 3 am time that Christians commonly call the witching hour stems from when it is believed Christ died.
In a bizarre moment of humanity, Michael removed his mask and began crying, but when Jamie tried to wipe his tears, he recoiled in a rage. He followed Jamie downstairs, where Loomis shot him with tranquilizers before finally beating him unconscious with a plank of wood.
In all of the Halloween movies Michael never says a single word unless you count the Rob Zombie films where his mom is a stripper and he quits talking despite being a talkative kid and says "Die" to Loomis later.
Along with Tina Williams, this incarnation of Laurie is one of two characters to kiss Michael while he is wearing a mask. While Laurie did it on purpose, Tina kissed Michael while under the impression that he was her boyfriend Mike.
Power: Evil Within. "The darkness inside feeds his determination to take the life of his prey." Evil Within is a tiered Power that requires The Shape to stalk Survivors and drain evil from their shared pool to tier up. The more he stalks them, the deadlier he becomes.
