He believed that his child/children had perished with Padmé. The only person he had left in his life was Palpatine/Sidious. Following his cybernetic reconstruction, he was also at the mercy of Sidious and his Force Lightning.
But we also learned that Anakin fell to the dark side due to his dreams about Padme's death. He wanted to prevent her death so much that he decided to join Palpatine, who was secretly Darth Sidious the entire time, as his new apprentice because the chancellor promised him a way to prevent the death of a loved one.
Did Anakin regret choking Padme? Oh yeah. He pushed the memories out of his mind for a couple of decades. But after he faced his son, Luke, in Empire Strikes Back, it was all he could think about.
Anakin's Force Choke begins the series of injuries that ultimately leads to Padme's death, and convinces Obi-Wan to fight him. Despite this, when Anakin learns of Padme's death, his immediate reaction of grief and regret shatters everything in the lab with a powerful force shockwave.

As he kills one soldier, he says "for Padmé!" to which the dying man tells him "for Anakin." Once they clear out the attack, Darth and his troops end up at the Queen Padmé Amidala's tomb. As Darth Vader takes it all in, Sabé and her handmaidens show up ready to fight.

Anakin regrets this almost instantly, but the thought of Padme was stronger than his remorse This is the moment Anakin officially became Darth Vader and led to serious issues in the Skywalker Saga.
Padme's death is the moment that solidifies Darth Vader's fall to the Dark Side, and expanded Star Wars media has often shown him mourning her when not serving The Empire.
Yes, when Darth Vader turned back to Anakin Skywalker and sacrifice himself to save his son, he dies and Obi-Wan uses the force to connect with Anakin's spirit. In that time Anakin apologizes to Obi-Wan, desperately asking him to forgive him for everything he has done to him and everybody over the years.
The Younglings Reminded Anakin of How Different He Was
Those negative emotions also power the dark side, meaning Anakin likely felt stronger as he killed the younglings. That, in turn, reinforced his belief that only the dark side could save Padmé.
The film doesn't flinch away from how horrific that act is, especially as it begins the downward spiral of Padme's death. Nonetheless, as she dies, Padme tells Obi-Wan that there is still good in Anakin. Even something as heinous as that couldn't fully break her love for Anakin.

The first attempt initially appeared to be a success, but Senator Amidala was found alive. The second attempt, however, was foiled by Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

The maverick Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn comes before the Jedi High Council, which Windu is a member of, and offers to train Anakin Skywalker, believing that the boy is the Chosen One of Jedi prophecy. Windu and the other Council members decline, deeming Anakin too old and full of fear.
He didn't. What people interpret as dislike, was actually fear. The reason Windu seemed so cold towards Anakin, was because he was afraid of what he could do. According to the Episode III novel, Windu believed that Anakin's powers were growing far too quickly, and that he was not disciplined enough to control them.
The short answer is yes, without a doubt, Vader regretted becoming a cybernetic monstrosity. First, there's the constant pain and discomfort from his suit. Worse, however, is the psychological pain. Vader destroyed everything he had ever known for a chance to save Padme.
The Little Girl
Honestly, I just couldn't figure out who she was or why she was even in the funeral procession. This also means that for the longest time I forgot I could just look up the credits of the film. Long story short, she is Padmé's niece, Pooja Naberrie, and was portrayed by Hayley Mooy.
Overview. After her death in childbirth on Polis Massa, Amidala's body was returned to Naboo for the proper funeral rites. In order to hide the fact that Amidala's twins survived, her body was prepared to still appear pregnant. Her maternal grandmother, Ryoo Thule, oversaw Amidala's funeral, as per Naboo custom.
Shmi was buried at the farm with a gravestone marking her grave. After her husband Cliegg Lars died, he was buried next to her.
Sadly the Clone Wars would have still happened, but Padmé would have also survived, giving birth to Luke and Leia who would have probably been inducted into the Jedi Order. As for what would have happened between the two, with their marriage and all, that's a bit tricky.
Although the decision to turn to the Dark Side was Anakin's alone, the choice did not come from thin air. His natural prone to impulsivity and emotion without the support systems he needed in place made it easier for Anakin to stumble down a path of darkness.
Anakin would have likely been killed by the clone troopers, along with the other Jedi. However, perhaps he would have escaped. He would have taken the pregnant Padme with him. He would have needed to get as far away from the eventual Empire as possible, so perhaps they would have gone with Yoda to Dagobah?
