Asherah's husband is the supreme Canaanite god El, also known as the "Bull El" or "King El," the ancient creator and father of the gods, though in later Israelite religion, she became associated with Yahweh, often depicted as his consort, a relationship later suppressed as monotheism developed.
Asherah was the goddess of the sea while "her husband El" was the god of 'heaven.'
Asher married twice. His first wife was Adon, a great-granddaughter of Ishmael; his second was Hadurah, a granddaughter of Eber and a widow. By her first marriage, Hadurah had a daughter named Serah, whom Asher treated as if she were his own.
It may be assumed that early Israelites regarded Asherah as the mother of Yahweh just as El certainly was the father of Yahweh, but there is very little direct evidence to confirm that. Asherah tends to be associated with Baal in the Hebrew scriptures in the current form.
Many studies on Asherah in the Bible have concluded that Asherah was a popular and beloved Mother-Goddess in the religion of Israel. Asherah was regarded as a benevolent, divine kingship (also known as the “Queen of Heaven”) who bestows abundance and protection to the people.
If Jesus is God's Son, does that mean God had a wife? God has never had a wife. Calling Jesus God's Son is an expression of His role in relation to God the Father. Unlike us, Jesus was not conceived by two earthly parents; He was born of a virgin through a miraculous work of God.
When we read Genesis 6:4, we see that “the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them.” The sexual activity is plain and not subtle. If the sons of God are rebel angels, then illicit sexual activity is taking place in unions with human women.
Eerdman's Dictionary of the Bible went on to say that Junia is the “only woman called 'apostle' in the New Testament; she may have had a charge of some sort and may have been among the restricted leadership of the church.” That is, she was not an Apostle with a capital “A,” like the twelve disciples, but she was a ...
The identity of the bride is generally considered within Christian theology to be the church, with Jesus as the bridegroom; Ephesians 5:22–33 in particular compares the union of husband and wife to that of Christ and the church.
Conclusion: Christians use “God” instead of “Yahweh” because of historical Jewish tradition, Greek and Latin translation practices, and the New Testament focus on God as “Father” and “Lord.” However, many Christians recognize that Yahweh is God's 'revealed name' and see “LORD” in the Bible as 'referring' to Him.
Revelation 19:16 in Other Translations
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords. 16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Asherah is a false god. Idolatry is not tolerated by Yahweh. The issue isn't what an imaginary “god” did to Yahweh, but whether God's people who made a covenant with him, go and worship a false god they promised not to worship. Yahweh and Asherah were not venerated together.
The ancient Israelites believed that God had a wife, named Asherah, but Biblical editors erased her. They also erased any mention of reincarnation, which early Christians also believed in.
Homosexuality and bisexuality
Apollo, the god of sun and music, is considered the patron of same sex love, as he had many male lovers and was often invoked to bless homosexual unions. He is also called "the champion of male love" by Andrew Callimach.
The Alphabet text places Lilith's creation after God's words in Genesis 2:18 that "it is not good for man to be alone"; in this text God forms Lilith out of the clay from which he made Adam but she and Adam bicker.
The name of the wife of the apostle Peter was Gogia; his sons <were called> Joel and Yovnana, and <his> only daughter Sabistha. James and John <remained> virgins. Andrew's wife was <named> Antoli; <they had> a daughter, Mary.
The Story of Tamar in the Bible is found in Genesis 38 and reveals how God used an unlikely woman—a widowed Canaanite named Tamar—to preserve the family line of Judah, ultimately leading to the birth of Jesus Christ.
Joshua 24:14–15 Reminds Us to Serve God
And then for us to pray that God would save us from idols in our country. We must decide if we will serve God or ourselves. Let's do that. God, we start this prayer by saying you alone are God.
There are two main interpretations of the sons of God and the daughters of man in Genesis 6:2. The first is that the sons of God were angels who copulated with the daughters of men, human women. The second is that the sons of God are the descendant of Seth. They married the daughters of man, the descendant of Cain.
She had no other children and never engaged in the marital act with Joseph. Sometimes this is confusing since there are references in the Scriptures to Jesus' brothers and sisters.
Jesus is the ultimate firstborn (a title applied to him by Paul). The gospel authors never refer directly to Jesus as God's firstborn, but they do refer to him as the Son of God, a title that connects to the theme of the firstborn.
Jesus didn't have kids because it wasn't part of His mission. He came to die, not to be a dad. The Bible confirms He had siblings (Mark 6:3), but zero wives or children.
