The psychotic villain Batman shows up in Gotham, learns Catwoman's identity, and uses his Bruce Wayne identity to seduce and marry her. He then tries to murder her, and they battle until she kills him. Catwoman realizes that Batman was the murderer of her parents, and that she's pregnant with his daughter.
She explains in the letter that because she loves Harvey and thinks that Bruce will not be able to give up his life as Batman, she is going to marry Harvey (but that she will always love Bruce and will remain his friend).
