According to the World Health Organization, the citizens of Czechia consumed the most alcohol per capita in 2019, with individuals consuming about 14.26 liters of pure alcohol. Latvia and Moldova follow with 13.19 and 12.85, respectively.
Looking at the amount of alcohol consumed per person aged 15 years or older, the Seychelles is in first place with around 20.5 litres of alcohol drunk per person per year, according to Our World in Data; studies show that young male peer groups primarily drink high amounts of alcohol in the Seychelles.

American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN) tend to abuse substances more than other racial demographics, and also suffer from more mental health concerns than the general American population.
The global status report on alcohol and health found that 39 per cent of all Irish people aged 15 and over had engaged in binge drinking, or “heavy episode drinking” in the last month. The figures put Ireland ahead of Britain's 28 per cent and just behind Austria's 40.5 per cent, out of 194 countries.

We observed ethnic, gender and age-specific differences in the alcohol consumption patterns. Asian respondents were consistently the least likely to engage in drinking behavior, and non-Hispanic white respondents the most likely.

More than 6 percent of adults in the U.S. have an alcohol use disorder, about 1 in 12 men and 1 in 25 women. An additional 623,000 people between the ages of 12 and 17 have alcohol use disorders. About 88,000 people die of alcohol-related causes every year in the United States.
Pakistan, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Mauritania, Libya, the Maldives, Iran, Kuwait, Brunei, and Bangladesh also have alcohol bans, as do some states in India (India is a Hindu-majority country but has a sizeable Muslim population).
The state has a large Mormon population that does not drink alcohol. The most sober state in the country is Utah, where 11.9% of the population report drinking excessively. Oklahoma was 49th with 14.5%. Alabama ranked as the 48th most sober state with 14.8% of adults reporting drinking excessively.

The 10 states with the highest alcohol consumption levels in the US are New Hampshire, Vermont, Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, Maine, Delaware, Wisconsin, Hawaii and Pennsylvania. These states have higher per capita alcohol consumption than any other states in the country.
Utah has the lowest consumption of alcohol, with alcohol consumption per capita of 1.34 gallons.
Historians say drinking was heaviest in the early 1800s, with estimates that in 1830 the average U.S. adult downed the equivalent of 7 gallons a year.
1. Polmos Spirytus Rektyfikowany Vodka. The world's strongest spirit is a rectified Polish spirit that is normally used for home distillers to create their own flavored vodkas at home. You can drink it straight, but since it's almost pure alcohol, it's got quite the kick and is generally not recommended.
Women feel the effects of alcohol faster than men because they have a higher fat-to-water ratio. A woman's blood alcohol concentration (BAC) increases at a faster rate than a man's, even when comparing individuals of the same height and weight.
You won't find it in the Guinness Book of World Records, but Andre the Giant holds the world record for the largest number of beers consumed in a single sitting. These were standard 12-ounce bottles of beer, nothing fancy, but during a six-hour period Andre drank 119 of them.
