Poseidon Greek God of the Sea
In Ancient Greek mythology, Poseidon was the god of the sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses. His Roman equivalent is Neptune. In Greek mythology, he is the brother of Zeus and Hades, the gods of the sky and underworld respectively.
Athena won the contest and became the patron goddess of Athens. From that time forward, Poseidon and Athena were rivals. This plays out in the story of the Odyssey where Poseidon tries to thwart Odysseus while Athena tries to help him on his journey.
Poseidon was allotted domain over the seas, but he always remained immensely jealous of Zeus' position of King of the Gods.
Athena and Poseidon entered into a contest to be the patron of Athens. Poseidon produces a spring of water but it was salty. Athena bested Poseidon by producing an olive tree on the Acropolis. Poseidon also raped Medusa—a mortal who had the reputation of being beautiful—in Athena's temple, desecrating it.

APHRODITE The goddess of love and beauty was loved by Poseidon and, according to some, bore him two daughters Rhode and Herophile (though both daughters are given alternative parents by other authors).
Poseidon was a brother of Zeus, the sky god and chief deity of ancient Greece, and of Hades, god of the underworld.
From the love between Poseidon and Nerites was born Anteros, mutual love. Other male lovers included Pelops and Patroclus.
During the Trojan War, Poseidon fights on behalf of the Greeks because he holds a grudge against Laomedon, the Trojan king. Because of Poseidon's dislike of the Trojans, he enters the war to help the Greeks.
Gods play an important role in Homer's epic the Odyssey. Almost all the gods are sympathetic to the main hero, Odysseus, except for Poseidon. Poseidon hates Odysseus because he has blinded his son Polyphemus.

Poseidon and his brothers, Zeus and Hades, broke the earthly domain into three areas: Zeus controlled the sky, Hades controlled death and the underworld, and Poseidon controlled the earth and seas. Much like Hades, Poseidon did not like Zeus being regarded as the supreme god.
Poseidon claims Percy is his favorite son but he has at least two other good ones that have been just as Great: Thesus- Great King of Athens who slayed the minotaur (Posiedon's mistake) and did a bunch of other Heroic stuff.

ATHENE (Athena) The goddess of warcraft was, according to some, the daughter of Poseidon and Tritonis (contrary to the usual account in which she springs fully-grown from the head of Zeus).
Together with Apollo, Poseidon tried to overthrow Zeus one time. However, Zeus was alerted and shot both gods with his powerful lightning. When they lost, Zeus punished Poseidon and Apollo by throwing them from Olympus, stripping them of their immortality, and forcing them to build the walls of Troy.

Amphitrite, in Greek mythology, the goddess of the sea, wife of the god Poseidon, and one of the 50 (or 100) daughters (the Nereids) of Nereus and Doris (the daughter of Oceanus). Poseidon chose Amphitrite from among her sisters as the Nereids performed a dance on the isle of Naxos.
Some estimates put the count at well over a hundred, with the lovers being mostly but not exclusively female. In some cases, ancient authorities differ, so the exact lineage and relationships remain open to debate.
Medusa and Poseidon engaged in a love affair and would have two children together, but not before Athena discovered the illicit affair. When Athena discovered the affair, she was enraged and immediately cursed Medusa by taking away her beauty.
When he refused to leave the sea to join her on Olympos, she transformed him into a shell-fish for his betrayal. POSEIDON The god of the sea had an affair with Aphrodite who was grateful for his support following the revelation of her adulterous relationship with Ares. She bore him two daughters Rhodos and Herophilos.
She never had a true lover or someone to hug and hold her; all she had was her loving mother, caring father and most of all her brothers and sisters. For some very strange reason it was hopeless that she would fall in love; Hephaestus tried once, yet failed. Athena was well known for giving advice/mentoring heroes.
