Tanjiro Kamado was almost killed multiple times by powerful demons like Rui (Lower Rank Five) and Akaza (Upper Rank Three), but the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji was the ultimate threat, severely poisoning Tanjiro and later even temporarily turning him into a demon, which nearly killed him permanently in the manga.
