The answer largely depends on what your doctor recommends, but usually patients will be able to wash their face within a few days of the procedure. Unless you have splints that need to stay dry before its removal, you should be able to maintain personal hygiene soon after coming home from the procedure.
Do not roughly wipe or scrape at the nose, as this can increase swelling and irritation and compromise your recovery. You should be able to resume washing your face regularly a few days after your surgery, but be sure to consult your surgeon before you do.
First, you shouldn't wash your face as long as splints and tampons are in your nose. Instead, you can gently clean your face with a wet wipe or a wet cotton pad. On the seventh day after rhinoplasty, your bandages and splints will be removed, and you can wash your nose with lukewarm water.

It is recommended to wash your face and take a shower. In the meantime, you should take care not to get the plaster bandage and splint wet, and after removing them, you should wash your face. You should be sure that the cleaner you use is smooth. For a while, your skin will be sensitive.
The nasal region and the cast installed inside the nose need to remain dry till removed by the doctor a week after a Rhinoplasty. Using a shower can hinder this. You can wash the rest of your body in a bath or shower.
After the stitches or staples are out, you may wash the incision with soap and water and gently dry the area. If you have strips of tape on the incision the doctor made, leave the tape on for a week or until it falls off. Or follow your doctor's instructions for removing the tape.
Saline rinse
Nasal irrigation can be used starting one week after the surgery, and some doctors will encourage the use of saline rinses to keep the area hygienic.
Patients can participate in the following activities two weeks after rhinoplasty surgery: Short walks. Light household chores. Driving (if you feel comfortable and are not taking pain medication)
Gently touching the nose after the splint is removed is fine. However avoid any trauma or blows to the nose for 6 weeks (to avoid injuring the newly positioned bones and cartilage).
However, this should strictly be subject to inspection by your plastic surgeon. Swimming should be avoided for around 6 weeks following nose reshaping surgery. The cast that's placed on your nose needs to stay dry until it is removed.
Care for the incision site. The skin incisions should be washed with soap and water three times per day starting the day after surgery. This should be done very gently and pat dry (do not wipe). After drying, the incisions should be cleaned with a 50% solution of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and a Q-tip.

2 Weeks After Rhinoplasty: At this point, you will probably experience a dramatic reduction in post-op swelling, and any bruising will likely have disappeared. As swelling recedes, the new shape of the nose becomes more apparent and distinguishable.
You may wash your hair on the second day after surgery if you can do without lowering your head below your heart. *For women, you may wear makeup at any time if you wish. Please use caution with your glasses or sunglasses/shades.
You may gently clean dried blood from the inside of the nose with a Q-tip and dilute hydrogen peroxide. Refrain from blowing your nose or sneezing if possible for 2 weeks. Use saline spray or a bulb syringe for comfort and to help clear drainage. Keep head elevated when resting, and sleep with at least 2 pillows.
3-6 months: The numbness and abnormal sensations in your nose and nasal skin should be resolved. 1 Year: The healing process is complete – swelling should have subsided entirely and the nose's new shape is fully refined.
If you've accidentally bumped your nose after recently undergoing a rhinoplasty procedure, you should immediately apply a cold compress to help to reduce any swelling.
Moisturize continuously
A fragrance-free moisturizer will be your best friend here because your skin will crave ingredients to help it heal – just be sure to avoid pressing too hard as it could cause adjustments made during rhinoplasty to shift.
Facial Resurfacing – Starting the day after surgery, wash your face three times a day with Cetaphil Cleanser (can be obtained at Wal-Mart or Med-X), gently using fingertips. Do not wipe face dry with a towel.
After the first 24 to 48 hours, wash around the cut with clean water 2 times a day. Don't use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, which can slow healing. You may cover the cut with a thin layer of petroleum jelly, such as Vaseline, and a non-stick bandage. Apply more petroleum jelly and replace the bandage as needed.
Sleeping on your side or stomach is not recommended for several weeks after the procedure because it places unnecessary pressure on your nose. Resting on your back in an elevated position cuts down on congestion and minimizes swelling after rhinoplasty surgery.
You'll need to sleep in an elevated position for at least one week, however, it's generally recommended that you wait around 10-14 days before returning to your regular sleeping positions.
Can yawning affect the rhinoplasty? Yawning should also be avoided as extreme facial expressions may result in permanent damage to the rhinoplasty and the patient may not get their desired results. It is best to avoid extreme expressions for the first few weeks after getting the rhinoplasty done.
