First, wipe the rubber gasket clean with an old rag and, then, spray the rubber gasket area with distilled white vinegar. Work in the vinegar with a clean microfiber. This step is to be done thoroughly to ensure that there is no leftover mold or grime.

'I mix equal parts warm distilled water and white vinegar in a spray bottle to apply liberally to the seals and drum,' Tamara says. 'I then scrub with a clean cloth or soft-bristled brush, leave it to sit for 15 minutes or so, then wipe and dry with a clean towel.'

Fill your sink with two tablespoons of dish soap and a scoop of warm water. Make sure to check if the soap is safe for silicone or rubber. Soak the cap, especially the rubber gasket, on the water for at least 10 minutes. Use a bottle brush to clean the corners, then scrub thoroughly.
Some common solutions for cleaning mold from rubber surfaces include vinegar, baking soda, detergent, or chemicals such as bleach.
Mix one part bleach with four parts water in the spray bottle. Use the spray bottle to spray and wipe away any remaining bleach areas from the rubber seal. Be sure to pull/push it gently to get in the grooves where moisture can grow and mould can develop. Wearing rubber gloves will protect your hands from the bleach.
How to clean a front-load washer: For a super quick washing machine refresh that will take you less than 30 minutes, add white vinegar to a spray bottle and spritz the inside of the drum. Wipe all around the washer drum with a microfiber cloth, leaving no surface untouched.

Apply Baking Soda
Rinse them with water just to dampen and sprinkle them liberally with dry baking soda. Use the water clinging to the silicone to make a paste with the baking soda. Be sure to cover all of the surfaces with the paste. Allow the baking soda to dry completely (this may take several hours).
