A 6'4" man typically wears Large Tall (LT) or Extra Large Tall (XLT) shirts, focusing on "Tall" sizes for proper sleeve and torso length, but the exact fit depends heavily on his chest, neck, and waist measurements, with LT fitting generally 40-42" chest/17-17.5" neck and XLT for 42-44"+ chests and 18"+ necks. Always check the specific brand's size chart, especially for chest and neck, as standard L or XL might be too short.
For example, a regular XXL shirt might be wider, but it won't have longer sleeves or torso length, which are essential for tall men. And the added width may lead to an unflattering, oversized look for big men. Big and tall clothing adjusts both width and length properly, offering comfort and style without compromise.
The 3-3-3 Rule in Fashion means choosing 3 tops, 3 bottoms, and 3 pairs of shoes that can mix and match easily. These 9 pieces create a “mini wardrobe” that still gives you many outfit choices without feeling boring.
Regular Sizes vs.
If you're under 6" tall, and usually wear XL, then you're a regular size. If you require more room around the body and additional length in sleeves, rise, and trouser lengths, and you wear sizes above XL, then you belong in the big and tall size category.
How to measure for T-shirts
Just like LT, XLT is a size extra-large made for tall people. It stands for extra-large tall.
The 5-5-5 Rule helps you build a versatile and stylish closet with just: 👕 5 Essential Tops (classic white shirt, silk blouse, fitted tee, etc.) 👖 5 Must-Have Bottoms (tailored trousers, dark-wash jeans, midi skirt, etc.) 🧥 5 Outerwear Staples (structured blazer, wool coat, trench, etc.)
What is the 3 color rule for men? Exactly the same principle: limit an outfit to no more than three visible colours to stay sharp and cohesive. Menswear staples—navy, grey, olive, black and white—make ideal base tones; add one accent through a pocket square, sneakers or watch strap.
The 10 cm Face Zone Rule is the secret behind effortless style. No matter what you're wearing, the area around your face is what people notice first. Hair, makeup, earrings, glasses, collars, scarves, and accessories — these details shape the entire impression of your look.
Big and tall sizes refer to clothing designed specifically for men whose body measurements exceed standard sizing in either width, height, or both. "Big" sizing usually starts at XL or above and is made for men with broader shoulders, fuller chests, and larger waistlines.
Men with a chest measurement between 40 and 42 inches are suggested to wear this L size in number.
Size 40 means 'Medium' or size code 'M' in so many brands of apparel. Extra Large normally starts at a chest size of 44 inches and above for men.
On the flip side, when a mens chest measurement soars above 46 inches, it falls into the extra-large or "big" bracket. But remember that these categories are simply a reference point and that accurate chest size measurements should be taken using a measuring tape, check my method above on how to do this accurately.
The international size XL refers to shirts with body size "Extra Large". On the shirt size scale common in Germany, size XL corresponds to collar size 43 or 44, which differ only slightly in the circumference of the collar.
