After circumcision, avoid fatty, processed, junk, sugary foods, alcohol, and excessive caffeine to prevent inflammation and constipation, favoring light meals like soup, toast, yogurt, and plenty of water initially, then gradually returning to a balanced diet for better healing. Spicy, acidic, or hard/crunchy foods should also be limited, especially in the first few days or weeks, to avoid irritating the sensitive surgical site.
Post-Operative Care for Adolescent Circumcision
Below are some foods that you should eat post-circumcision surgery.
After three days, you may resume your daily routine but should continue to avoid high-impact activities such as running, skiing, or boating as well as activities that put direct pressure on the scrotum such as riding a motorcycle, ATV, or snow machine for a total of 6 weeks after surgery.
Drink plenty of water after your surgery to help your body recover (see “Fluids and Food” on page 2). Eat heavy or large meals for at least 24 hours after your surgery. A heavy meal may be hard to digest. Also avoid spicy and greasy foods.
When you're discharged from hospital, you'll be given advice about your recovery at home, including when you can drive, return to work and have sex. It usually takes at least 10 days for your penis to heal after circumcision. You'll probably be advised to take at least 1 week off work to recover.
Pat the cut (incision) dry. Avoid strenuous activities, such as bicycle riding, jogging, weight lifting, or aerobic exercise, for 2 weeks or until your doctor says it is okay.
It is important to keep the wound clean, particularly when passing urine – preferably by drenching the area with lukewarm water (no need to dry afterwards). From the next day following the operation take a shower daily until the wound is healed.
Heavy lifting, driving, or strenuous exercise (such as cardio, contact sports, cycling, or swimming) should be avoided for 3 weeks. Healing times can vary, but it's best to allow at least six weeks.
Conclusions: Older age (25+ years), occurrence of an adverse event, and lesser self-reported pain at device removal were associated with delayed wound healing. If confirmed by larger surveillance studies, these results should be incorporated into the counseling given to male circumcision clients.
Progressively increase your child's diet as tolerated 1-2 hours after surgery. Starting with clear fluid (water, apple juice, Popsicle, etc.), then soft diet (purees, soup, yogurt, etc.), then regular diet.
Lemons and oranges are fruits rich in vitamin C, which is good for the body's immune system. Therefore, these fruits are commonly used for patients and people who want to prevent the risk of disease. Berries work by preventing oxidation, inflammation, and allergies, so post-surgery patients can use them.
Generally, avoid high-fat meats, eggs, dairy products, and sugary sweets. According to the National Institute of Aging (NIA), these foods are low in fiber and may lead to constipation.
This is a fairly rare problem. In particular, this may occur when too much skin is removed when a 'tight' circumcision is performed. Occasionally, the curvature may be severe enough that it causes urinary problems with the urine stream going sideways.
After the bandage is off, the wound must be cleaned with salt water 3 times daily, a salt bath works well. 5. After soaking the wound properly, it must be dried completely.

Among our patients, when asked about pain during circumcision performed under local anesthesia on a scale 1-10 with 1 being no pain, and 10 being the worst pain of your life, more than 90% of patients rate pain as 2-3. Most patients do not take prescribed pain medications or any other pain medications.
If the circumcised area becomes soiled with stool, gently remove the gauze and clean the penis with warm water. If the gauze is stuck to the circumcised area, wet the gauze with warm water to loosen it and gently remove it.

Your child may be constipated after surgery, or they may not. If they have small, hard or painful poop, this is from the anesthesia and pain medications they received.
