Psalm 121:4 – Behold, He who keeps Israel, Shall neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 6:6,9 – I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears. The Lord has heard my supplication; The Lord will receive my prayer.
A Prayer for Peace (Psalm 91:4–6)
“He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.”
PSALM 134 (133)

I've found that invoking the power of Jesus' blood is especially critical to ending attacks in the night. Before you go to bed, speak aloud, “I cover myself in the blood of Jesus.” I believe this places a spiritual force field around you that the enemy can't penetrate.
This is a Psalm of David, and is thought to be the strongest of what are known as the imprecatory psalms, David's songs that call down curses upon his enemies. It is important to remember that these are prayers, committing vengeance unto God.
Psalm 91:11 "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." This highlights the extent of God's protective care, emphasizing that He will even enlist the assistance of His angels to ensure the safety and well-being of those who trust in Him.
We confess and say unto You, O Lord, that You alone are our refuge, our fortress, and our place of protection from dangers and distress. You are also our stronghold and our defense against our enemies. You are the only God whom we serve and only in You will we confidently place our trust.
The LORD will guard you; he is by your side to protect you. The sun will not hurt you during the day, nor the moon during the night. The LORD will protect you from all danger; he will keep you safe.
This psalm is simply titled A Psalm of David. This is one of what are commonly known as the Imprecatory Psalms, which in strong terms ask God to defeat and destroy the enemies of His people. As you read through the book of Psalms, the Imprecatory Psalms become more intense.
Midnight (or hours between 11.00pm and 3.00am) is known to be the most spiritually active period of the day. You will notice that dreams, revelations, attacks, visitations from the spirit world (both by angels and demonic powers) often come at this time, especially when you are sleeping.
A Peaceful Prayer for Protection
O Lord, our God, keep us in peace during this night and at all times. Keep our hearts and thoughts secure in holy reverence for you so that we may be protected at all times from the snares of the enemy.
O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore of you to obtain for me (request).
Lord, I pray that You would strengthen me with all power according to Your glorious might, that I may have great endurance and patience. Help me to lean on Your strength and not my own, today and every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Lord JESUS, by faith in your merits, I now take your Precious Blood and sprinkle it over myself and my family right from the crown of my head to the very soles of my feet. I claim total and complete protection for my life and my family.
As Catholics, this psalm reminds us of God's unwavering presence and commitment to protect each of us and his larger Church. In praying Psalm 91, we thus gain renewed strength in times of challenge, fostering a deeper connection with our heavenly Father and further anchoring our trust in his providential care.
I accept You as my Lord, God and Savior. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit. Come Lord Jesus, cover me with Your Precious Blood, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I love You Lord Jesus.
Your guardian angel is your protector, and they can absorb your emotions to help you through difficult times. In the low moments of life, when we feel immense grief or despair, we can get the sense that there's a presence with us — even if that sense is very subtle. That feeling is the presence of our guardian angel.
From where does my help come?” Psalm 121 was written to instill confidence in God's people as they took the journey up Mount Zion to the hill in Jerusalem. They were looking up. It was written to encourage them that they were not alone, that help was available, and that their trust in the LORD was not in vain.
Psalms 140 NLT - O Lord, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, - BibleProject.
Psalm 109, the angry psalm, is basically praying what the widow said to the judge, and what Jesus urged us to pray and not give up. “God, I want your justice against my enemy, I want you to repay my enemies for what they did to me.” One more NT prayer against enemies: Revelation 6.
Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood. See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
Psalm 119 also reveals the transformative power of God's Word. The psalmist repeatedly asks God to teach him, give him understanding, and open his eyes to wondrous things in the law (v. 18). This humble, teachable attitude reminds us that engaging with the Bible and God's word is not a passive activity.
