Visiting campus or attending an information session can be an excellent way to learn more about Yale, but it will not affect your chances of admission. What is the minimum GPA required for admission? We do not set a minimum GPA, nor do we attempt to re-weight GPA's to any standard other than what a school provides.
While there's no GPA requirement to be admitted into Yale, we can reasonably expect the average GPA of an admitted Yale student is close to a 4.0, in other words, a high school transcript with straight A's.
While Yale has no lower GPA threshold for admissions, it's safe to assume that like all the other Ivy Leagues, Yale only accepts students who are at the top of their class. . This means that the average successful applicant is a straight-A student who has taken advanced IB and AP classes.
None of the Ivy League schools have a minimum GPA requirement for applications, which means anyone can apply with any GPA.
A 3.5 GPA will be highly competitive, and admission can be reasonably expected at many colleges. Still, it's not the most competitive at places like Harvard, Yale, and Dartmouth, which, on average, accept students with GPAs exceeding 4.0.
It's worth noting that a 3.0 GPA does not automatically disqualify you from consideration for admission to Harvard, and there have been students with lower GPAs who have been admitted in the past.
Academic Standing Requirements for the Undergraduate Program
After being admitted with a 3.0 or higher grade-point average (GPA), you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be considered in good academic standing.

You should also have a 4.18 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher SAT/ACT score. For a school as selective as Harvard, you'll also need to impress them with the rest of your application. We'll cover those details next.
For example, at Yale a whopping 96% of students graduated in the top 10% of their high school class. If you have a few B's and are still at the top of your class, you remain in a strong position!
Probably not, since the class isn't related to your major, as long as your overall GPA is still 3.8+/4.0. Obviously your odds are slim to begin with and there is much more to getting in than a transcript and a few extra curriculars. Try for Yale, but find matches and likely schools you love just as much.
Does Harvard Accept B Students? Yes, just like I mentioned above, it's completely possible to get admitted into Harvard University with B grades.
Unofficially, 2.0 is the lowest GPA accepted into a standard college, so while there's a chance that college admission is possible, it's not likely at more than a few institutions.
While having an average grade point average will certainly diminish a student's chances of getting into even the easiest Ivy League to get into, it is not impossible for certain students to get the chance to say, “I got into Yale with bad grades.”
GPA of 6 and 7 are considered as an excellent score in Australian universities and among Australian employers. GPA of 6 or 7 means Distinction or Higher Distinction.
Normally, you would expect the highest score to be the 'perfect' 4.0 score, however, there are several things that a student can do to receive an even higher score. For example, one student actually managed to get a 10.03 GPA score. He did this by taking 17 advanced classes at his school, which awarded him many points.
Campus happiness: Brown is widely known as the happiest Ivy, perhaps because of students' freedom to choose courses with almost complete autonomy. Students report feeling less competition amongst themselves and an overall sense of campus community.
