ASD Level 1 – Level 1 ASD is currently the lowest classification. Those on this level will require some support to help with issues like inhibited social interaction and lack of organization and planning skills.
The simple answer to this question is yes, a person with autism spectrum disorder can live independently as an adult. However, not all individuals achieve the same level of independence.

Autism has a wide spectrum and not every individual with autism can find a place in mainstream schools. However, I have had a few success stories where the right support and timely intervention helped. Several students from my schools were able to successfully complete their education from mainstream schools.
Other signs of autism
not understanding social "rules", such as not talking over people. avoiding eye contact. getting too close to other people, or getting very upset if someone touches or gets too close to you. noticing small details, patterns, smells or sounds that others do not.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , a disability is “any condition of the body or mind that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities and interact with the world around them.” Autism is considered to be a disability.
Change in severity of autism symptoms and optimal outcome
One key finding was that children's symptom severity can change with age. In fact, children can improve and get better. "We found that nearly 30% of young children have less severe autism symptoms at age 6 than they did at age 3.
If the autism spectrum disorder left untreated it will have a detrimental effect on that person's life make him dependent on others. Additionally there are higher chances for the appearance of new symptoms which were absent before that eventually worsen the situation.
People with mild ASD are often very good at masking their symptoms. If they are undiagnosed, they may struggle with feeling different, misunderstood, or be confused by other's behavior. This can cause serious problems and isolate them from their loved ones in ways they don't even realize.
Despite the challenges faced by many individuals with autism, they are the same as all people in many ways: every person has strengths, interests and potential. Autism is no longer considered to be a low incident disability. In Australia, approximately one in every one hundred people is living with autism.
ASD has many similarities to ADHD, but there are also differences between the two. Can a person be diagnosed with both ADHD and ASD? Disability Living Allowance
DLA is a non-diagnosis specific benefit, so having a diagnosis of autism will not automatically lead to an award, but many children on the autism spectrum do qualify for the benefit. It is also entirely non-means-tested, so your income and savings are not taken into account.
People with ASD often have problems with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests. People with ASD may also have different ways of learning, moving, or paying attention. It is important to note that some people without ASD might also have some of these symptoms.
We know that there's no one cause of autism. Research suggests that autism develops from a combination of genetic and nongenetic, or environmental, influences. These influences appear to increase the risk that a child will develop autism.
People diagnosed with Level 2 ASD require moderate levels of support. This means that they may only be capable of limited social interactions, have limited interests, and frequently perform limited or repetitive behaviours. Individuals with Level 2 ASD diagnosis will automatically qualify to be an NDIS participant.
Centrelink payment: Carer adjustment payment
The Carer Adjustment Payment is a one off payment for children under seven who have a severe illness or a significant disability. If eligible, the maximum payment amount any family can receive is $10,000 for each child.
NDIS Support for Level 1 Autism
The NDIS offers a wide range of support for people with autism once they have met the requirements and become eligible. Participants and their families can create their NDIS plan to suit their special needs, including their choice of mental health care providers.
At Disability Plan Services, we're often asked 'how much is NDIS funding for autism? '. NDIS data revealed that on average, an autistic NDIS participant receives $32,800 in NDIS funding per annum, while autistic children aged under seven receive on average $16,700 per year under the NDIS.
The symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder may change over time but the underlying condition doesn't worsen. The simple answer to this question is, no. Autism Spectrum Disorder is not like heart disease or diabetes or similar physical conditions that can deteriorate over time.
