For the first time in 31 years, the United States has a new favorite dog breed. The American Kennel Club released its 2022 registration statistics and found that after being the most popular dog breed for three decades, the Labrador Retriever was outranked by the French Bulldog.
Family dogs such as Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Beagles, and Irish Setters are playful and protective. Pugs, Brussels Griffons and French Bulldogs love their families – particularly their laps.
Basenji. The breed most like a cat, the basenji is energetic, caring and shy when it comes to people he doesn't know. Choosing one human to attach to, he's a very devoted dog. The basenji is athletic and a very supple and self-assured pup.

Basenji. The basenji is literally known as the "barkless dog" because they make so little noise, but the breed's not completely mute. When they do decide to speak up, the hounds make odd noises that sound similar to yodels.
Shih Tzus share more DNA with wolves than most other breeds. The only breed group with more shared wolf DNA is the Nordic spitz group (Huskies, Samoyeds, and Malamutes).
