It is also the rarest personality type among men. INFJ stands for Introversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Judging. This unique combination is hard to find in most people. The INFJ personality type is characterized by their deep sense of integrity and their natural intuition.
Perhaps it's because INFJ is the rarest MBTI personality type, making up only 1% to 3% of the U.S. population.1 Or maybe it's because they're walking, talking contradictions. INFJs are easy-going perfectionists. They're both logical and emotional, creative and analytical.

Creative and rational. The combination of introversion, sensitivity and empathy in INFJs creates a person who absorbs lots of information from the world and the people around them. INFJs are constantly processing this steady stream of details.
INFJ's are very emotional and often sensitive individuals, however, we have a common sense that allows us to be rational even in the midst of our emotions. Extroverted-feeling is our second function and introverted-thinking is our third, which are fairly balanced in INFJ folks.
INFJs are no exception to this rule, and when they become overly stressed they may display a dark side that includes angry outbursts, obsessive worrying, perfectionism, or even depression. When INFJs first encounter stress, they start to behave very true-to-type.
Kindness. As sensitive personalities, INFJs feel attracted to people who show kindness towards others.
At their best, INFJs make modest, reliable teammates, and allow others to take the lead. INFJs may undervalue their own needs, ideas, and contributions, acting overly shy and not taking credit when due. At their worst, INFJs can be excessively submissive, ineffectual, and too dependent on direction from others.

The rarest personality type for women
Just 1% of women type as INTJ and ENTJ respectively. Among women, INFJ is only the third rarest personality type with approximately 2% of women categorized as INFJ. Both INTJ women and ENTJ women are extremely rare in the general population.
INFJ: Cancer
The INFJ personality type fits perfectly with personality traits associated with the Cancer zodiac sign. The symbol of Cancer is a crab, and like a crab, INFJs are deeply sensitive and intuitive individuals who prefer to stay inside their shells until they feel emotionally safe.
Other people think they're too sensitive.
Since they're sensitive, they're more likely to share their emotions with people close to them. Unfortunately, some people read their sensitivity as weakness instead of caring. This leaves INFJs feeling alienated for having feelings beyond their control.
It can be very difficult for an INFJ to open up and be vulnerable with other people. Because INFJs are very careful about who they let into their life, not many people get the opportunity to be a part of an INFJ's life. INFJs are resistant to making friends because they often struggle with trust issues.
INFJs have one of the highest IQ levels alongside INTP and INTJ with different knowledge measures but stem from one core aspect – intuitive intelligence. Many personalities have a sensing input function, while others have concrete information as a processing function.
Despite the fact that INFJs are complex individuals who are highly empathic and intuitive, they do commonly struggle with trust issues. These trust issues may be rooted in their private nature, their idealism, their empathy, or past experiences of hurt or betrayal.
Many people see INFJs as being quiet, supportive, and empathetic. Because they tend to take on others' emotional burdens, they are often used as a source of emotional unloading. People vent all their feelings and emotional traumas onto the INFJ because they know they will be emotionally supportive and understanding.
INFJs are most likely to marry someone who shares their values and vision for the future, regardless of their personality type. INFJs are more likely to marry someone who values emotional depth and intimacy and is dedicated to personal growth and development.
INFJs' only true enemy is themselves, or more specifically, their inner critic. However, some personality types may be difficult for INFJs to get along with including: ESTJs: They are often seen as being too blunt, dominant, and insensitive for INFJs.
However, time and time again, INFJs have told me that they get uncomfortably awkward around their crushes. They giggle more, trip over things more, and make self-deprecating jokes to try to ease the tension.
They are also quiet but fierce hardworking perfectionists who dream big and achieve their goals. Because they are often reserved, high-achieving individuals with high expectations of both themselves and others, INFJs can be intimidating to other personality types.
If INFJs are in a state of grip stress they can be more harsh, reactive, blunt, and critical than usual. They might tear down relationships, plans, or even physical objects around them in a state of self-destructive fury.
On the surface, the INFJ and INFP personalities appear very similar. These two introverted Myers-Briggs personality types are both creative, idealistic, and focused on helping others.
INFJ: Superficiality
Superficial conversations about gossipy topics or small talk don't usually interest an INFJ, so it can be a major turn-off when someone is too eager to stick to the surface level of communication. Shallow conversations and frivolous topics can make an INFJ feel bored, disconnected, and uninspired.
ENFJ – Being Alone
The ENFJs I spoke with hated being alone; they felt that their lives were emptier and lacking meaning the longer they spent time in isolation. This makes sense considering their dominant function, Extraverted Feeling (Fe), is largely concerned with promoting the happiness and morale of others.
