Mary's most significant prayer, and arguably her greatest expression of faith, is the Magnificat, her song of praise to God after visiting Elizabeth, found in Luke 1:46-55, where she exalts God for His mighty acts and promises of salvation, highlighting her humble heart and trust in His plan. While the Hail Mary (Ave Maria) is a fundamental Catholic prayer to Mary, the Magnificat is Mary's own prayerful response and hymn of thanksgiving, often sung at evening prayer in Christian traditions.
A Prayer to the Immaculate Heart
O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of mercy, Queen of Heaven and Refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to thine Immaculate Heart. We consecrate to thee our very being and our whole life; all that we have, all that we love, all that we are.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
In the Gospel read on the Assumption, Mary proclaims “the greatness of the Lord.” (Lk. 1:46) The Magnificat, her prayer also known as the Song of Mary, or the Canticle of Mary is one of the most ancient Christian hymns.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech thee from the bottom of my heart to succour me in my necessity (Mention Your Request) There are none that can withstand thy power. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Mary's song is a song of praise. She is not just sharing her thoughts with her cousin. She is saying that the Lord is great, and her spirit is rejoicing with the news that has come to her. Today, Mary's song is called The Magnificat, meaning “my soul magnifies the Lord” in Latin.
It is the most repeated prayer because it perfectly fulfills the first Christian prophecy, spoken by the same holy mother when she said, “Behold, from this day forward all generations will call me blessed.” The Hail Mary is used in the Catholic rosary as well.
This prayer is never known to fail and is to be said for 3 consecutive days.) Oh most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendour of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me here you are my mother.
A 3AM Prayer is not superstition; it's consecrated availability. Scripture speaks of the watches of the night—times when God's people rise to seek Him, wage gentle warfare, and listen (Psalm 63:6; 119:147–148; Lamentations 2:19). Jesus Himself prayed through the night, and in the fourth watch (roughly 3–6 a.m.)
It is known as the "Three Hail Mary Devotion," and consists of saying three times each day the Hail Mary with the invocation "O my Mother, preserve me this day (or night) from mortal sin." The prayer is said three times to honor the Most Blessed Trinity, Who is the source of all of Our Lady's greatness.
I beg You to obtain for me pardon for my sins and a heart overflowing with love for Jesus. My dearest Mother, I promise to come to You every day, at this hour and in this place, to implore Your intercession for a miracle in my life. I humbly bring before You this petition (mention your petition).
Grace before Meals
Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
I pray that you lift my weary spirit and fill me with your love and peace so that I may be restored and renewed in body and mind. Lord, pour your heavenly nourishment into my soul and give me the energy to sustain myself in my role as a mother.
Sub tuum præsidium (Ancient Greek: Ὑπὸ τὴν σὴν εὐσπλαγχνίαν; lit. 'under your protection') is an ancient Christian hymn and prayer dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Miracle of the Sun
On October 13, 1917, 70,000 people gathered in Fatima despite heavy rain, waiting to see if Mary's promise would come true. Suddenly, the clouds broke, and the sun began to spin, change colors, and zigzag across the sky—something that defied all natural laws.
The Magnificat (Latin for "[My soul] magnifies [the Lord]") is a canticle, also known as the Song of Mary or Canticle of Mary, and in the Byzantine Rite as the Ode of the Theotokos (Greek: Ἡ ᾨδὴ τῆς Θεοτόκου).
Remember, O most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother. To thee do I cry, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
Jesus is the great intercessor and we prayed to him as the great intercessor to reach God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to pray to Mary.
6 mistakes to avoid when praying
