Finally, Slytherin is thought of as the 'evil' house. These stereotypes are found all throughout Harry Potter, with Harry himself refusing to be sorted into Slytherin and Draco Malfoy saying he'd leave if he were sorted into Hufflepuff.
Although there are strengths to every house, Hufflepuff house in particular often comes up short. While the other houses seem cool and invite a certain allure, Hufflepuff is a little different. Often considered the least desirable of all the sorting options, here are some reasons why Hufflepuff house is the worst.
Hufflpuff: Hufflepuff really has no fictional villains, which is horrid because they are some of the greatest possible villains to write. The villains in fiction from most to least common are slytherin, gryffindor and ravenclaw rarely, and hufflepuff never.
If any Gryffindor can be described as a villain through and through, it is Peter Pettigrew. He became a Death Eater and one of Voldemort's most devoted servants, and he was the one who betrayed the Potters.
Slytherin doesn't mean evil! Some Slytherins have avoided becoming the worst of the worst. The question of what makes a Slytherin not fully evil essentially amounts to whether they embraced wizard fascism or not, either by following Lord Voldemort or pursuing purist policies in government.
Peter Pettigrew. Peter Pettigrew, (a.k.a. Wormtail), is the only Death Eater known to have been in a House other than Slytherin (Gryffindor) while at Hogwarts.
Helena Ravenclaw

slytherins have the best qualities from all the other houses. They use the intelligence of Ravenclaw to find the best solutions to any problem. They are loyal to their friends and family like a Hufflepuff, and they are as brave as Gryffindor when pursuing their ambitions.

Quirrell's wand is alder, 9 inches, and unicorn hair. He is a Half-blood, and his birthday is 26 September. As a Hogwarts student, he was sorted into Ravenclaw.
Slytherin only narrowly defeated Ravenclaw and were then probably second place in the league. The victory worried the Gryffindor team who needed to win their next game to be in second place and in with a chance of winning the tournament.
The only house without a villain that we know of is Hufflepuff. Also, Grindelwald is the villain of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and he wasn't in Slytherin. He went to Durmstrang. But in the Harry Potter series, Pettigrew and Quirrell were both villains that were not in Slytherin.
As was probably expected, Peter Pettigrew takes first place as the evilest Gryffindor, having betrayed some of his best friends to a mass murderer and framed another one for their murder. Peter is the proof that evil can truly come from any house, and is not limited to those from Slytherin.
