KJV: "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." RSV: "I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent."
Scripture tells us that silence can help us avoid sinning (Proverbs 10:19), gain respect (Proverbs 11:12), and is deemed wise and intelligent (Proverbs 17:28). In other words, you may be blessed by holding your tongue. Ultimately, refraining from speaking in certain situations means we are practicing self-control.
If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.

Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. Living with a difficult wife (19:13; 21:19; 25:24) is a constant theme in Proverbs – because the book is guy talk, father to son!
23 an unloved woman when she gets a husband, and a maidservant when she displaces her mistress.
Abigail demonstrates wisdom and compassion (1 Samuel 25). When Abigail's husband refused to show kindness and generosity to David and his men, she bravely stepped up to create peace between the two parties. Her quick, kindhearted offering of food and drink to David and his men saved the lives of many in her community.
19 It is better to adwell in the wilderness, than with a bcontentious and an angry woman. 20 There is atreasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man bspendeth it up.
1 Timothy 2:9-10

In 1 Corinthians 11:3-15, Paul writes that if a woman is to be so immodest as to wear her hair uncovered while praying or prophesying in a Christian assembly she might as well shave her head. Paul instructs the Corinthians that it is “one and the same” for a woman to have her head shaved and for her to unveil her hair.

Silence allows a connection to God beyond what words can express. It is a special gift for us to cultivate and use to aid our faith. Silence enables us to let God reach out to us.
Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble.
With their lack of loud words and exaggerated actions, quiet people rarely offend others in their presence. It's rare to see a quiet friend speak rashly, or a quiet co-worker reprimand a boss. Because they don't intimidate others in their presence, they often make others feel at ease. Be calm every time.
Specifically Proverbs 21:9 — 'Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. ' And Proverbs 21:19 — 'Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife.
Proverbs 15:1 – “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” One of the best ways to avoid an angry marriage is to respond to your spouse's words in a kind and Christ-like manner.
In The Proverbs 31 Homemaker, Jami discusses the six characteristics of a wise woman: her character as a wife, her devotion as a homemaker, her generosity as a neighbor, her influence as a teacher, her effectiveness as a mother, and her excellence as a woman.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
The Wise Woman of Abel Beth-Maacah is the second of two “wise women” portrayed in 2 Samuel lived in a fortified city in northern Israel. When David's general Joab batters the city wall where Sheba has staked a rebellion, the wise woman calls out for negotiation.
He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church… Ephesians 5:33: However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds. Her husband trusts her without reserve, and never has reason to regret it. Never spiteful, she treats him generously all her life long.
To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband.
