For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life. Therefore I say to the Israelites, "None of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood."
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Bible (Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:10, and Acts 15:29) prohibits ingesting blood and that Christians should therefore not accept blood transfusions or donate or store their own blood for transfusion. Specifically, their beliefs include: Blood represents life and is sacred to God.
Christ explained the forgiveness He offers to His disciples at the Last Supper (which was also the meal celebrating the Passover Lamb): “For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:28; emphasis mine).
It could be recalled that in the sacrifices involving blood in the Old Testament, the blood symbolically represented life. It is the life (blood) of the victim that is the source of the atonement, which, of course, brings the hope of the sinner's union with a holy God.

When a man lies with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both must bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. "`When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.
Lev. 7. [26] Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. [27] Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
The main task of the blood consists of offering the spirit the radiations it requires. These radiations depend on the composition of the blood. Each blood component--red blood cells, proteins, minerals, etc. --plays its role in the formation of the overall radiation.
God threatens to severely punish those who eat blood, explaining why: “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to you for making expiation for your lives upon the altar; it is the blood, as life, that effects expiation [kappara, from the verb kof-peh-resh]” (Lev. 17:11).
The power of the blood of Jesus has provided everything you need to live a life of victory, including Redemption, fellowship, healing, protection and authority over the devil. As Christians, we know about the blood, sing hymns about the blood, and remember it during Communion.
First John 1:7 tells us: “The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin.” So when we confess our sins to God, we're forgiven of our sins and cleansed from them by the blood of Jesus.
As Hebrews 9:14 explains, the blood of Christ, shed for our sake, cleanses “our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!” For all who trust in Christ, we are washed in his blood, fully cleansed from sin so that we may serve him!
The Bible says that the Blood was shed by JESUS through the ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT. Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the BLOOD of CHRIST, Who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT OFFERED HIMSELF without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” The Blood is supreme and cannot be matched anywhere.
Blood brings oxygen and nutrients to all the parts of the body so they can keep working. Blood carries carbon dioxide and other waste materials to the lungs, kidneys, and digestive system to be removed from the body.
In the New Testament the blood of Jesus is shed for our sins, and we have forgiveness “through faith in his blood.” Jesus died very publicly on the cross to show mankind His “righteousness for the remission of sins.” He passes by, or forgives, all our sins.
It has four main components: plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Blood has many different functions, including: transporting oxygen and nutrients to the lungs and tissues.
Thus, Jehovah's Witnesses regularly refuse transfusions for themselves and their children because they believe the procedure creates a risk of losing eternal salvation.
But why include the eating of blood and things strangled — thus retaining its blood in the flesh — in the forbidden items? These were things forbidden to Jews by the Mosaic Law but not forbidden to Christians.
Blood atonement is a disputed doctrine in the history of Mormonism, under which the atonement of Jesus does not redeem an eternal sin. To atone for an eternal sin, the sinner should be killed in a way that allows his blood to be shed upon the ground as a sacrificial offering, so he does not become a son of perdition.

In Abrahamic religions, eating pig flesh is clearly forbidden by Jewish (kashrut), Islamic (halal) and Adventist (kosher animals) dietary laws. Although Christianity is also an Abrahamic religion, most of its adherents do not follow these aspects of Mosaic law and do consume its meat.
