Deworming medications (antihelmintics) are used to rid pets of intestinal worms. No single dewormer removes all types of worms, but many deworming products are effective for more than one type.
Many veterinarians recommend Panacur C, which contains fenbendazole as the active ingredient. It's effective against the most common species of hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, and whipworms.
No other dog dewormer kills as many different types of worms as Drontal Plus. Drontal Plus is a safe and effective broad-spectrum dewormer that eliminates multiple types of parasites with one dose. It kills tapeworms, hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms within seven days.

All it takes is one tablet, once only for each member of your family, regardless of body weight. As threadworm is highly contagious, it is important to treat ALL the family, including mum and dad. Human worming products will treat only adult worms present in the intestine at the time of taking the medication.
For most people, treatment will involve taking a single dose of a medication called mebendazole to kill the worms. If necessary, another dose can be taken after 2 weeks. During treatment and for a few weeks afterwards, it's also important to follow strict hygiene measures to avoid spreading the threadworm eggs.

Your puppy will pass worms with their poo after deworming. This happens for up to 3 days after the deworming process. If you do not dispose of the excrement properly, the eggs in the poop can cause reinfection if your pup comes into contact with them.
Children can get threadworms again after they've been treated for them if they get the eggs in their mouth. This is why it's important to encourage children to wash their hands regularly.
Deworming treatments start working within a few hours. Studies show deworming medications are 98% to 100% effective at eliminating parasites such as roundworms, which are often present in puppies at birth after being passed through the placenta or mother's milk.
Take the correct dewormer
When infected with worms, it should be dewormed periodically, for adults and children over 2 years old should be dewormed 2 to 3 times a year, ie every 4 to 6 months.
Deworming (sometimes known as worming, drenching or dehelmintization) is the giving of an anthelmintic drug (a wormer, dewormer, or drench) to a human or animals to rid them of helminths parasites, such as roundworm, flukes and tapeworm.
How long until roundworms are gone in dogs? It takes approximately four weeks for roundworms to be treated with dewormer. The infective larvae and eggs can survive in your dog for a long time time and are particularly resistant to changes in conditions in the body.

Mebendazole vs Ivermectin :
Mebendazole is a prescribed worm medication for Pinworm, Roundworm, Whipworm, and Hookworm. Ivermectin is an anti-parasite medication. It is used for treating infections in the body that are caused by certain parasites.
Treatment should be offered at least once each year for intestinal worms and at least every two years for schisto- somiasis. If infection is particularly common, the frequency of treatment may be increased to twice a year for intestinal worms and once a year for schistosomiasis.
Possible complications. Intestinal worms increase your risk for anemia and intestinal blockages, as well as malnutrition. Complications occur more frequently in older adults and in people who have suppressed immune systems, such as people with HIV/AIDS infection.
Your children may come into contact with eggs in schools or nurseries, particularly in the toilets if they are not cleaned properly. This is why your child may have recurring threadworms, even if your home and personal hygiene are of a very high standard.
Mebendazole effectively prevents the worm from absorbing the vital glucose it needs to survive. Without being able to absorb glucose, the worm eventually loses its energy and dies. The worm is then passed out of the body in a bowel movement.
