Overexposure to Ammonia
Cat pee is full of ammonia, a toxic gas that can cause headaches, trigger asthma attacks, and even result in serious respiratory illnesses such as pneumonia. Children, older adults, and people with weak immune systems are at particular risk of illness due to overexposure to ammonia.

In particular, a cat that feels unsafe or vulnerable in any way can take to peeing on your bed. Similarly, a bored or under-stimulated cat can also start peeing in inappropriate areas as a way to communicate their need for more stimulation with you.
Peppermint oil is highly toxic to cats.
Without the enzymes required to break down phenols, cats exposed to peppermint oil can experience: Liver damage. Breathing difficulties. Wobbliness and seizures.
It is worth noting that dogs are more repelled by the smell of vinegar than they are by lemons and oranges. It is no wonder that vinegar is a key ingredient in every dog repellent. You can use vinegar spray as a natural dog repellent in your home, but do not spray it directly on the dog.
And rubbing alcohol? Dogs don't appreciate the smell of alcohol either. Dilute alcohol in water and use it to spray while vacuuming your carpet and your dog won't pee on the carpet anymore. Additionally, there are commercial dog repellants that you can easily find at pet or departmental stores near you.
Does cat urine odour ever go away? If you've cleaned the area thoroughly using an enzymatic cleaner, you can successfully get rid of the smell of cat urine permanently. However, on a very hot day the smell may resurface.
