House flies, blue and green bottle flies, and flesh flies breed in garbage and/or animal feces and are generally referred to as filth flies. They pass through four distinct stages in their life cycle: egg, larva (maggot), pupa, and adult. These flies can detect odors across long distances.
Poop has a rather soft, moist consistency that flies like to settle in. It provides them with warmth, which is also why they like to give their eggs a cozy spot within the little valleys of poop piles. A plump fruit that was alluring only a few days ago can turn into a gross, decaying mess. Flies like that.
Mix together 1/2 cup of salt, 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar. Pour the mixture down the drain. Let sit overnight, then flush the drain with hot water in the morning. This should kill all flies and the organic material they've been feeding on.

Eliminate Food Sources and Breeding Areas (Most Effective)
If you use plastic bags, ensure they are well-sealed. Pick up pet feces regularly, and remove any dead or decaying plants. Keep dog kennels clean, pick up food after the dog's feeding time as much as possible, and clean up any spilled food or water.
Pour Boiling Hot Water Down the Drain
If you're looking to get rid of drain flies, you should know that they don't like boiling water. We recommend you pour boiling water down your drain a couple of times a day for about a week.
They do not bite, sting, or spread diseases, but their decaying bodies may cause allergic reactions. They can also spread bacteria from trash, decaying vegetables and fruits. Drain flies breed in areas that are moist and have a lot of organic remains, including: Sinks.
The vinegar attracts the flies, and the dish soap makes it impossible for them to stand on the surface, so they drown. Be aware, however, that these methods only kill the adult drain flies. You must keep a clean, clear drain pipe to deal with the larvae.
In most instances, spotting a fly on your food doesn't mean you need to throw it out. While there is little doubt that flies can carry bacteria, viruses and parasites from waste to our food, a single touchdown is unlikely to trigger a chain reaction leading to illness for the average healthy person.
If a single fly has brief contact on freshly cooked food, then most health experts would say it's not a big deal and there's no need to chuck the food.

Cluster flies often confused with house flies belong to a family of flies called Pollenia and are medium sized, about 10mm in length. They are greyish olive in colour and adorned with golden hairs which makes them quite distinctive to the trained eye.
The most effective cluster fly treatment are smoke bombs and foggers but it's recommended to have a professional do this because the fumes can also be harmful to human respiratory systems.
