When the Holy Spirit was poured out on the feast of Pentecost, this was visible through various signs: there was a sound like a mighty wind, divided tongues as of fire rested on the heads of the apostles, and they began to speak in other languages.
Sometimes you may sense He's speaking to you through a gentle conviction. Other times He will prompt you in a specific way to take action, say something, or accept the truth He's revealing. The Spirit often gives us a deep sense of peace about our circumstances, decisions, or courses of action.

#1 Hear the Holy Spirit when you Focus on the Word
One of the most effective ways to improve your ability to hear the Holy Spirit is by focusing on God's Word. In John 15:7, Jesus said, “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!”
For many people, feeling the Holy Spirit for the first time can feel like intense peace and love. It can also feel like a sense of inner knowing or understanding or being surrounded by light and a holy presence.
In other words, when you heard the gospel and believed it, you were at that moment sealed with the Holy Spirit. So, if you've received Christ, if you believe in him and his resurrection from the dead, you have the Holy Spirit.
Our scripture today is John 16 13-14 "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
It is when the disciples are gathered, “when the time for Pentecost was fulfilled”, we're told, that the Spirit comes. The Spirit becomes audibly present (with the noise of the rushing wind), visibly present (with the tongues of fire), and actively present when the apostles go out and preach to the crowd in Jerusalem.
“The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit are Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.
They are qualities that Jesus Christ shares with his Church through the Holy Spirit. The four marks of the Church are that it is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.
The Spirit anoints our hands to bring blessing, healing, comfort, and help to others. The Spirit equips our feet with speed and haste to bring the good news of the Gospel to every neighbor near and far. The Holy Spirit purifies our hearts and minds and sets us on fire with the love of Christ.
Living a life marked by God means embracing His identity, walking in obedience, and fulfilling His purpose with faith and courage. It means being led by the Holy Spirit, loving others well, and standing firm in your faith.
While angels may not be visible to us in a physical form, many people believe that they are around us, watching over us and sending us signs of their presence. These signs can come in many forms, such as feathers, a sense of peace or reassurance, a comforting presence, or even a feeling of warmth or lightness.
God warns us through the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit. He will bring an inner check that something isn't right, you experience an uneasiness, an unsettledness that you can't shake. Everything may look fine to your natural eyes, but God sees what you don't see!
