Jar Jar Binks's design was inspired by a mix of animals, primarily resembling an amphibious creature with features like a duck-billed dinosaur (hadrosaur) for his snout, a droopy-faced dog (like a Bloodhound or Doberman) for his expression, and elements of a frog or toad due to his amphibian nature and big eyes. His flexible, cartilage-based skeleton also gives him a unique, almost insect-like or reptilian movement, but the core visual cues lean towards these familiar earthly animals.
Did you know Jar-Jar Binks, designed by Terryl Whitlatch in the 1990s for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, was heavily based on hadrosaurs as well as amphibians? We recognize Jar- Jar's duck-billed mouth in some of the hadrosaurs in our galleries. #MayThe4thBeWithYou.
Jar Jar Binks first appears in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as a bumbling, foolish Gungan from the planet Naboo who is banished by his tribe as punishment for his clumsiness.
Terryl designed many of the creatures used in the prequel trilogy, and came up with such things as the humanoid amphibian Jar-Jar Binks (and hence his species, the gungans) and the various aquatic predators of Naboo. Among these is the Sando aqua monster, a quadrupedal super-predator that reaches 200 metres in length.
The Gungans are the native inhabitants of the planet Naboo, an amphibious species with hardy lungs capable of holding breath for extended periods. Their skeletal structure is extremely flexible, as it is made of cartilaginous material rather than hard bone.
Binks was clumsier than most of his fellow Gungans, which was the reason why he was banished from Otoh Gunga. He would often explain his dislike, lashing out with his long tongue. Like all Gungans, he spoke with a peculiar Basic dialect, which sometimes made him hard to understand.
An idyllic world close to the border of the Outer Rim Territories, Naboo is inhabited by peaceful humans known as the Naboo, and an indigenous species of intelligent amphibians called the Gungans.
No. He is not a representative of people with disabilities in any way. He is a clumsy comical character meant for comic relief. Being clumsy like Jar Jar does not mean having a disability.
No, Darth Plagueis is not Anakin Skywalker's father; Anakin had no biological father, being born of the Force itself in response to Plagueis's dark side manipulations, with Palpatine's tales of Plagueis's power over life being a manipulation to turn Anakin to the dark side, though Plagueis's attempts to create life did inadvertently cause Anakin's conception.
Darth Maul was stronger than Obi Wan, he proved that when he killed Qui-Gon but he was over primed and traded being a showman for his life. Another contender for the weakest Sith could be Count Dooku, or has he's also known Darth Tyranus.
Rotta, nicknamed "Pedunkee Mufkin" (translated as Punky Muffin) by his father and also nicknamed "Stinky" by Ahsoka Tano, was a male Hutt and the son of Jabba the Hutt.
When writing Return of the Jedi, George Lucas revisited the idea that a primitive species would help the Rebels destroy the Death Star, but decided not to use Wookiees because it had already been established that Chewbacca was proficient with technology.
Jawas are meter-tall humanoids completely hidden behind rough, hand-woven robes. Their faces are concealed within the dark folds of a cowl, from which peer their sickly glowing yellow eyes. They comb the deserts of Tatooine in search of discarded scrap and wayward mechanicals.
Binks was often derided for his clumsiness, which at one point resulted in his banishment from Gungan society. Jar Jar Binks was often regarded by his peers as clumsy and annoying, traits that led many people to deride and underestimate him. His clumsiness led to his banishment from his home city of Otoh Gunga.
As amphibians, Gungan females spawned a strand of 1,000 eggs, which hatched into tadpoles. A day after hatching, a single tadpole would cannibalize their clutch-mates and began to develop quickly into the bipedal adolescent form that they would keep for the rest of their life.
Gooberfish, also known as a gooba was a species of fish native to to the oceans of Naboo. A lake near Vis was rich in this kind of fish. When an opee sea killer attacked the bongo piloted by Qui-Gon Jinn after viewing it as food, Jar Jar Binks referred to it as a "big gooberfish."

While no official ADHD diagnoses exist in the books, fans often point to Fred & George Weasley, Luna Lovegood, and Nymphadora Tonks as characters exhibiting traits of ADHD, like impulsivity, hyperfocus, restlessness, and disorganization, though some also see Hermione Granger as potentially neurodivergent due to intense focus and social challenges. Dipper is a rather easy character to prove here, because he does exhibit behaviors that highly correlate with Autism. Not only is he shown to have intense difficulty in social situations, he is frequently shown to have trouble with hygiene, which can be a common problem for folks with Autism.
In Star Wars lore, Order 37 was a grim Clone Trooper contingency plan to capture a wanted individual (often a Jedi) by taking a civilian population hostage, locking down the area, and threatening mass execution if the target wasn't surrendered, making it a horrific tactic used by the Empire to force Jedi compliance. It was considered more brutal than Order 66 because it targeted civilians directly, forcing Jedi to often turn themselves in to save innocent lives, as seen on planets like Bellassa.
In Legends, probably the most unusual species to join the Jedi were the Iron Knights - a silicon based species that looked like shards of crystal. To function in galactic society and as Jedi, they used modified droids to serve as humanoid bodies.
Form VII (Juyo), the "Ferocity Form," was banned by the Jedi Order because it required channeling aggression, anger, and other intense emotions to fuel its wild, relentless, and unpredictable attacks, which closely skirts the dark side and risks corrupting the user, a direct violation of the Jedi Code's emphasis on peace and emotional control, even though Mace Windu later adapted it into the controlled Vaapad variant for a select few.
