In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Hawkeye (Clint Barton) becomes hard of hearing (not fully deaf) due to repeated exposure to loud noises from battles, using a hearing aid in his right ear, a condition shown in the Hawkeye Disney+ series, stemming from trauma after Avengers: Endgame. He is not blind.
But in the comics, Hawkeye (Clint Barton) is mostly deaf. I think I recall it is from using a sonic- arrow (high decibel pitch, offensive) too close to his ear, in the 1980s. But he's like Daredevil (blind) in being one of the notable handicapped heroes.
Hawkeye is blind due to cataracts.
At one point in his comics history, Hawkeye was 80% deaf in the aftermath of a big battle. He was held captive by a villain named Crossfire, and while fighting another villain named Mockingbird, he bit down on a sonic arrow, which stopped the fight but permanently damaged his hearing.
Daredevil is only blind, Hawkeye is blind and deaf.
Another Marvel Comics character that is deaf is Echo. This Cheyenne Nation prodigy is the daughter of Tracksuit Mafia. In her origin story, she lost her hearing when she was a child. Echo has popped up in many Marvel Comics over the years.
Marvel's gone a step further and introduced two characters on different sides of the deaf spectrum. Actor Jeremy Renner, who is not deaf in real life, is cast as Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, a hard-of-hearing individual who wears a hearing aid.
This series also reintroduces Hawkeye as a deaf character after a mercenary known as Kazi the Clown jammed two of Hawkeye's arrows into his ears. Hawkeye became a member of the New Avengers led by Sunspot at the request of S.H.I.E.L.D., who are suspicious of Sunspot's activities and want Clint to spy on them.
Hawkeye is asked by the nurses to fix a malfunctioning stove in the nurses' tent. While doing so, a gas pocket builds up and explodes, flash burning and blinding Hawkeye.

The Man of Steel is one of the most iconic superheroes in comic book history, and DC's poster boy has no shortage of remarkable vision-related powers. X-ray vision, heat vision, and telescopic vision are just a few things the legendary superhero can do with his eyes.
The Hawk-Eye system indicated that the ball landed on the centre of the line despite instant replay images showing that the ball was clearly out. It was later revealed that the Hawk-Eye system had mistakenly picked up the second bounce, which was on the line, instead of the first bounce of the ball.
Daredevil, also known as the Man Without Fear, is a fictional superhero from Marvel Comics who first appeared in 1964. He is the alter ego of Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who was blinded in a childhood accident involving radioactive material.
In an unfortunate accident, Daredevil loses his sense of hearing, completely and permanently. Unlike his loss of sight, the other senses do not pick up the slack. What character, who he would normally be able to beat, could beat the deaf Daredevil?
For those who don't know this, in the comics Clint Barton is actually deaf. It's a quick blink and you miss in the trailer but I'm curious to know how they'll tackle that in the series.
“Goodbye, Henry.” One of the Saddest Moments in Television History. March 18, 1975 — the night television broke every heart. The MASH* episode “Abyssinia, Henry” aired, and what started as a warm, funny farewell turned into one of the most unforgettable tragedies ever shown on TV.
The watch was tied to Clint's wife's former stint as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and, if fallen into the wrong hands, could blow her cover and endanger his family.
Because Barton had sacrificed himself in Avengers #502, Captain America gifted her the Hawkeye mantle.
Actor and former bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno is best known as TV's Incredible Hulk. Now in his mid sixties, he's worn hearing aids since he was 4. Ferrigno lost about 75 percent of his hearing at the age of 3 due to an ear infection, and at age 4 was fitted with his first hearing aids.

The item was either a retirement gift for her years in the service of S.H.I.E.L.D. or a reference to her former alias. In the comics, Agent 19 was a codename given to the real Marvel character, Barbara "Bobbi" Morse.
