How hard is B2 level German? The German language is complex yet highly systematic. For a systematic language, you need a systematic course structure though. If the course material you are using has a thought-out structure, then it shouldn't be difficult.
How much time do you need to learn German to a B2 level? A quick google search shows that The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) suggests that you need about 750 hours to get to this level. An offer of many German-language schools seems to confirm this number.
It's generally considered that reaching B2 is having basic fluency.
If you´d like to work in Germany you´ll get by if your German is on level B1/B2 (online test). The certificate issued by GLS is recognized by many employers and even some universities in Germany.
Can I learn German B2 in 3 months? › B2 also takes around 3 months if you spend around 8 hours a week. P.S.: There are some people who are good at learning languages and remembering stuff who finished it all in 3-4 months. It all depends on how easy this comes to you and how much time you're spending on it.
So for the average learner which you very likely are, getting to B2 takes at least 9 months of intensive (!) daily study. And that's what you should consider as the most realistic amount of time to learn German fast.
Level B1 indicates a more intermediate speaker who can hold basic conversations and understand simple texts. Level B2 is considered advanced, and speakers at this level can participate in complex conversations and understand long and difficult texts.
How many German language levels are there? The German language has 6 CEFR levels – starting with A1 (absolute beginner), and ending with C2 (completely fluent).

C1 Advanced

Level B2: upper independent English level
Level B2 corresponds to a more advanced, more independent level than previous levels. A B2 user can communicate easily and spontaneously in a clear and detailed manner.
CEFR-level B2 (upper-intermediate)
You can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible. You can take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts, accounting for and sustaining your views.
Most intensive 20 hours a week schools will give you 2 months per each level, meaning you will get from A2 to B2 graduation in 4 months. I recommend taking your time and really learning the basic grammar rules and endings because you will be surprised how many C1 students still make A2 mistakes! (Me).
Whether you are planning to study or work in Germany, it is highly recommended to be proficient in the German language at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Lifelong. This certificate does not have an expiry date. The exam has 4 modules (reading, writing, listening and speaking) which are graded from 0 to 100. to A minimum score of 60/100 is required to pass each of them.
Intermediate B1 to B2 – German level B1 takes 200 hours and B2 takes approximately 300 hours to become fluent. Advance C1 to C2 – C1 Level takes around 240 hours and C2 level takes around 240 hours to complete the whole course and become a pro at speaking German.
As a rule of thumb, German universities require you to present a proof of upper intermediate to advanced German language skills (level B2/C1) to study in German.
