Botox is measured in “units.” There are 100 units in one syringe of Botox. One area of the face can require as little as five units while other areas may need around 40 or more units. The more Botox units used, the more a procedure will cost.
What is a unit of botox? A unit of Botox is the way to measure the amount of Botox that's injected into the body. Botox typically comes in 50 to 100 unit vials and the cost for each unit of Botox can range from $10-$25.
Glabellar lines (between the eyes): 10-25 units. Jaw area (masseter): 15-50 units per side. Lines around the nose: 5-10 units. Neck (platysmal) bands: 25-50 units.

Right above the eyebrows and in between the eyes is called the frown lines. According to the recommendations, this requires 20 units. And finally, for the lines further up the forehead, which we just refer to as forehead lines, it takes 20 units of Botox.
An average Botox procedure uses about 50 units at a time, with the maximum safe amount being 100 units. Typically, you can expect more Botox units if you want to target more dynamic wrinkles like frown lines, forehead lines, or smile lines.

According to Allergan's guidelines, the following units should be given: Crow's Feet – 10 to 12 Botox Units per eye (2 eyes would mean 20 to 24 units) Frown Lines – 20 Botox Units. Forehead lines – 20 Botox Units.
The recommended dose is 100 Units of BOTOX, and is the maximum recommended dose. The recommended dilution is 100 Units/10 mL with preservative-free 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP (see Table 1).
Usually, in one sitting you may receive even 40 to 60 units of Botox. Again, this will depend on your circumstances, but generally speaking 60 units is a pretty average amount to receive, especially if you are just starting out.
If you have very faint forehead wrinkles, you might only need around 10 to 12 units of Botox. This is more or less the minimum amount of Botox one would get for treating wrinkles on the face. This amount will tighten your skin and give you a noticeable difference in your appearance.
In general, Botox lasts 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients in which in lasts longer, in that 4-6 month range, or shorter, in that 2-month range. It is also common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment.
People of any age can get treatment with Botox, and it is regularly used on people between the ages of 25 and 50 particularly. No matter how old or young you are, however, this treatment can relax the look of wrinkles and even stop them from forming in the first place.
Here's a quick guide on the typical amounts of Botox used in each area for most clients: If you were to estimate your Dysport unit needs for each area, you would multiply the number of Botox units by 3. So, if you need 20 units of Botox on your forehead, you would need 60 units of Dysport!

The results last a long time, so you actually don't need to get this treatment very often. Most people report that the injections work 3-6 months after they are administered. Use more units of BOTOX
The most effective way of getting BOTOX to last longer is simply using more units. The way BOTOX works is by disrupting the release of chemicals from nerve endings. The effect fades because our nerves have the ability to create new endings in a nearby area of that muscle.
The more frequently you have Botox injections, the longer the effect will last between sessions! Some doctors have reported repeat clients who can go up to a year between injections.

While many patients notice fewer wrinkles in as little as 48 hours, it is normal to take up to 10 days for full effects to realize. In other words, you may need to be patient. If it has been more than 2 weeks and you are still not seeing the results you expect, consult with your provider.
Injecting Botox under the eyes is not an approved use. Botox is intended to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in areas where there is significant muscle movement. It may be less effective when injected under the eyes than when used in the forehead, for example.
