There are approximately 4.1 billion males in the world, slightly more than females, with recent data from 2024 showing about 4.09 billion men against 4.05 billion women out of over 8 billion people, a trend where males have outnumbered females globally since the 1960s, though projections suggest a balance by 2050.
In humans, the natural sex ratio at birth is slightly biased towards the male sex. It is estimated to be about 1.05 worldwide or within a narrow range from 1.03 to 1.06 males per female at birth.
The number of men and women in the world is roughly equal, though men hold a slight lead with 102 men for 100 women (in 2020). More precisely, out of 1,000 people, 504 are men (50.4%) and 496 are women (49.6%).
Gender ratio in the World
As of 2025, there are 4,137,709,238, or 4,138 million, or 4.14 billion, males in the world, representing 50.27% of the world population. The population of females in the world is estimated at 4,093,903,832, or 4,093 million, or 4.09 billion, representing 49.73% of the world population.
The projections in the report assume this with no upper limit, though at a slowing pace depending on circumstances in individual countries. By 2100, the report assumed life expectancy to be from 66 to 97 years, and by 2300 from 87 to 106 years, depending on the country.
In reality, the probability of having a boy is slightly higher: on average, 105 boys are born for every 100 girls. We have no explanation for this fact. In some societies, notably in Asia and Central Europe, the sex ratio at birth exceeds that 105 boys (for 100 girls) biological threshold, rising to approximately 120.
The number of majority-male countries will decline by 2050
In 2021, males outnumbered females in 86 countries. That figure is expected to decline to 67 countries by 2050 as an increasing number of majority-female populations emerge.
However, the 5 percent of the world population that inhabits North America in no way reflects the racial mix of the world, in which only 16 percent are white. That's about 1.19 billion people out of a total world population of 7.4 billion. And it's predicted that by 2060 only 10 percent of the world will be white.
Besides male and female, there are 72 other genders, which include the following: Agender: A person who does not identify themselves with or experience any gender. Agender people are also called null-gender, genderless, gendervoid, or neutral gender.
The economy is now increasing steadily but the rate of women is still drastically declining. The economy has at a 6.8 percent as of 2023. Women now have more access to education but women in the workforce has dropped from 32 percent in 2005 to 19 percent in 2023.
The other hand, comparatively often the weaker, less dextrous or simply less subjectively preferred, is called the non-dominant hand. In a study from 1975 on 7,688 children in US grades 1–6, left handers comprised 9.6% of the sample, with 10.5% of male children and 8.7% of female children being left-handed.
This document discusses the four genders in English: masculine, feminine, neuter, and common. It provides examples for each gender and describes three main ways that the feminine form is derived from the masculine: by adding suffixes like "-ess"; using different but related words; and by prefixing or suffixing a word.

How Many Sexual Orientations Are There? In truth, there are hundreds! If you include all of the duplicates and similar orientations there are well over 600, with new ones are being created and others being archived each year.
The Biology of Human Genders. Humans, like virtually all animals and plants on earth, exist as two sexes—male and female. Genetically, the two sexes are defined as having a Y chromosome (male) or lacking a Y chromosome (female). Adult humans are diploid and are sexually either XX (female) or XY (male).
Malta. As of the 2021 census, 89.1% self-identified as Caucasian racial origin. Maltese-born natives make up the majority of the island with 386,280 people out of a total population of 519,562.
The Han Chinese are the world's largest single ethnic group, constituting over 19% of the global population in 2011. The world's most-spoken languages are English (1.132B), Mandarin Chinese (1.117B), Hindi (615M), Spanish (534M) and French (280M).
Among all adult men, 40.5 percent have no biological children, 37.5 percent have between one and two children, and 22.0 percent have three or more children (see Table 2).
It seems to be happening everywhere. If the current rate of decline continues, researchers concluded, the average male sperm count will fall so low that the typical guy in every advanced economy will be infertile by 2050.
Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan have the lowest-low fertility, defined as TFR at or below 1.3, and are among the lowest in the world. In 2004, Macau had a TFR below 1.0. In 2018, North Korea had the highest TFR in East Asia, at 1.95.
The results of the present study revealed that the first stage of labor was slower in women with male fetuses than those who carried female fetuses (Mean duration in female fetuses was 2.4 and it was 3.4 in male fetuses).
Lower levels of education reduce teen parents' potential for economic self-sufficiency. At the same time, having lower income and less education can also increase the likelihood of teens becoming pregnant in the first place.
Spikes in the number of boys typically happen at the end of wars. This phenomenon has been dubbed the “returning soldier effect”. It can be seen after both world wars, when more babies were born and even more of them than usual were boys.
That said, both identities are valid and can overlap. Some people identify as both bisexual and pansexual, depending on how they interpret their experiences. A common misconception is that bisexuality excludes trans and non-binary individuals, while pansexuality is the only identity that includes all genders.
