The manga for Rent-A-Girlfriend is still ongoing, with no official end date announced by the author, Reiji Miyajima. The anime adaptation, which has aired four seasons, will continue with a fifth season set to premiere in 2026.
The official website and accounts for the Rent-a-Girlfriend anime today announced that the second cour of the Hawaii Arc, now titled Season 5, will begin airing sometime in 2026 .

Ryu is Chizuru's childhood friend, next door neighbor, and later fiancé.

Chizuru said that she does not regret their regret back in the Hawaii Arc, and while she is attracted to him, her complicated lifestyle and goals mean that she cannot be with him and settle down.

Despite having broken up with Kazuya, Mami seems to have lingering feelings and even some animosity towards him, especially when Kazuya showed up with Chizuru Ichinose by his side to a drinking party not long after the break up.
Chizuru ultimately kissed Kazuya in front of everyone present in order prove that they're really dating for real even doing so twice to make it clear when Mami make everyone doubt that she was pretending to kiss Kazuya.
She is Baki Hanma's schoolmate and the daughter of Kinuyo Matsumoto, Baki's landlady. In later parts of the series, Kozue is also his girlfriend.
Kazuya's main confession is in Volume 28. In here he tells Chizuru that what he said in Volume 26 was true and that he is in love with her. Chizuru listens to his confession and gives him a response.
As of Season 4, Aleks Le was replaced by a different actor (Alex Mai) for the role of Kazuya. Reports mention scheduling conflicts as the official reason, although his discomfort with the series' content may have played a part from the background.
