Venom's connection to Spider-Man is deep and foundational: the alien symbiote first bonded with Peter Parker, gaining knowledge and hatred for him, then later bonded with journalist Eddie Brock, becoming a major villain driven by that shared history, before evolving into a complex anti-hero who sometimes helps Spider-Man, highlighting their intertwined but often adversarial relationship across comics and films.
In Spider-Man 3 (Sam Raimi films), Venom learns of Spider-Man's identity. At the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the symbiote tells Brock that their hive mind is aware of multiple universes. This suggests that they know Spider-Man is Peter Parker (Toby McGuire) and get pulled into the MCU by Dr Strange's spell.
Venom is obsessed with Peter Parker because he was the original host. In the same way carnage is obsessed with Cletus Kasady because he was the original host for Carnage.
In the comics, the Venom symbiote first bonded to Spider-Man when it was brought to Earth during the Secret Wars (1984) event. He rejected it when he learned it was slowly corrupting him and it bonded to Eddie Brock, becoming Venom, one of Spider-Man's most dangerous opponents.
So because they share a hive mind even the "Raimiverse" Venom would be included in that hive mind. Therefore all symbiotes know Peter Parker is Spider-Man in any universe. Cosmic memory shared across parallel universes between all symbiotes.
Peter Parker first bonded with Venom in SECRET WARS (1984) #8, where he mistook the symbiote for a way to repair his tattered costume after his fight against an army of super villains on Battleworld.
Knull, the dark god of the symbiotes, is the creator of the first symbiote, Venom, and he waged a brutal war against the celestial beings, using his power to shroud the universe in darkness.
However, their time together as the crime-fighting hero meant that the Venom too now wanted his hosts to be good guys, and to help people. So inspired was he by this partnership, that he always simulated the design of Spiderman's black costume when transforming, right down to its spider emblem.
In some storylines, Deadpool was the second person to have the Venom symbiote, even before Eddie Brock. In fact, it was said that Venom is terrifying and unstable in all of his forms because he bonded with Deadpool's twisted psyche. They come together and become Venompool!
The ability to form wings, as shown when Venom came into contact with Knull and grew a pair of web-like wings; in some cases the symbiote has also been shown to form gliding wings.
