To make cream-colored polymer clay, start with white clay and add tiny amounts of yellow and brown (or yellow, blue, and red to make brown) until you get a pale, warm off-white; a popular mix involves white with a touch of burnt umber or a small bit of red/yellow to warm it up, using a pasta machine to blend thoroughly, and adding more white if it gets too dark.
Because alcohol inks are brightly colored dyes, they can be used to make brightly colored polymer clay that still has translucent qualities. Just mix a drop or two of alcohol ink with your polymer clay to create a new color. Be aware the alcohol inks can fade with exposure to sunlight and/or heat.
Rubbing alcohol will dissolve polymer clay, so it makes a fantastic cleaner for your hands, your tools, and your work surface.

You can sand polymer clay after baking it, which ensures the material becomes smooth and is ready for sanding and polishing. Wet and dry sanding rids your clay of unwanted scratches, marks or fingerprints.
