To cover a stoma bag, you can use discreet clothing like patterned tops or dark colors, specialized ostomy wraps/belts for support and concealment, or DIY fabric covers for extra security, especially in water; for bags with filters, use the provided sticker to protect the filter during showering, as most modern bags are waterproof.
For those who have stomas above the belt line, patterned tops are best, while for those below the belt line, patterned bottoms may be helpful. Darker colors also tend to “hide” pouches better than lighter colors.
If it is your scheduled “change-day”, you may remove the appliance prior to bathing/showering, leaving the stoma exposed. If you do so, remember to avoid a direct shower stream on your stoma.

Disability is not about whether you can walk a certain distance or have fully functioning limbs. Whether or not you feel disabled or class yourself as disabled, in the eyes of the law living with a stoma does class you as having a disability.
A goodie bag
This could be a mix of a lot of itty-bitty things combined in a gift bag, like; Lip balm, toothbrush, fluffy socks, snacks (if diet allows them to eat it), magazines etc.
Drainable bags have to be emptied in the toilet when they are about one-third full, and replaced every 1–3 days. A colostomy bag may need emptying 1–3 times a day. An ileostomy bag may need emptying 4–6 times a day, depending on what you eat and drink, because the waste is no thicker than a paste (more watery).
Today's stoma bags are made to be hidden under clothes. Whether others see the bag or not can depend on what you wear. Loose clothes, high-waist pants or skirts, and tops with patterns can hide the bag well. Tight clothes, thin fabrics, or clothes that stick to you may show the bag more.
The easiest way to hide colostomy bags is either with an ostomy belt fitted with a pocket for bag discretion or with an ostomy wrap with a full pouch.
Depending on your personal style preferences, you may want to try trousers with waistband pleats, which can give you more room across the stoma pouch area. These types of trousers are available in most stores. A belt can sometimes cause a problem if it goes across the stoma.

If you allow it to get too full, the weight of the stool may pull the pouch away from the skin. A person with an ileostomy will need to empty the pouch about five or six times in a 24-hour period. If you have a colostomy, you will need to empty the pouch two or three times in a 24-hour period.
Don't use baby wipes, oils, and lotions on the skin around your stoma. These can make it hard to attach the pouch to your skin.
Those with an ileostomy are most at risk of becoming dehydrated, more so than those with a colostomy or urostomy and it can happen quickly and make you feel fatigued. Once you are home after stoma surgery make sure you follow the few lifestyle adjustments you need to stay properly hydrated following your surgery.
Plastic or Waterproof Stool: You can use a sturdy plastic stool or a waterproof stool inside the shower. Make sure it's slip-resistant and stable.
