2- WET RAG WITH SOME SOAP It's super easy to give a quick cleaning before coming inside! The advantage of a wet rag with soap is that it's quite efficient at getting in the nooks and crannies of your dog's paws. You'll also want to use the dry end of the rag or another rag/towel to dry off your dog's paws.
If you want to do a routine dog paw cleaning after a quick walk, just gently wipe the paws with a washcloth and water. As an even more convenient option, the American Kennel Club recommends using moist wipes that are safe for dogs.

Dog wipes or other moist wipes labeled safe for pet use can help clean muddy, sandy, or salty paws quickly, and are convenient to carry in a bag if you're traveling. You may need to upgrade to a warm, soapy washcloth, however, for serious messes.
Make sure to clean and dry their paws to keep their feet fresh and comfortable! Another important thing to note is that bacteria, ticks and other bad parasites can hide in your dog's paws. This is especially important if your dog has been walking through lots of grass, in wooded areas.

Baking soda paste dries out rashes, alleviates itching, and reduces inflammation. To make the paste, mix 50% baking soda with 50% water and apply the paste to their paws. Chlorhexidine is cheap, extremely effective, and readily available. A 2% solution limits tissue irritation, but 4% solutions are also commonly used. Povidone-iodine solution is another good option.

Dogs prefer the smell of things more odoriferous and complex like garbage, carcasses, rotting food, poop, and anything else stinkier and more pungent than the “lavender” shampoo smell.

Licking is a natural and instinctive behaviour to dogs. For them it's a way of grooming, bonding, and expressing themselves. Your dog may lick you to say they love you, to get your attention, to help soothe themselves if they're stressed, to show empathy or because you taste good to them!
Turning in circles before lying down is an act of self-preservation in that the dog may innately know that he needs to position himself in a certain way to ward off an attack in the wild.
