Yes, brown bears very commonly have twins, with it being the most frequent litter size, though they can also have single cubs or litters of three or four; cubs are born in the den during winter while the mother is hibernating.
Females give birth to an average of one to three cubs that remain with their mother for 1.5 to 4.5 years. It is a long-lived animal, with an average lifespan of 25 years in the wild.
Species and subspecies of bear known to have produced offspring with another bear species or subspecies include American black bears, grizzly bears, and polar bears, all of which are members of the genus Ursus.
Grizzly Bears often have twins, sometimes triplets, but they usually have different fathers. They are born while in the winter den while the mother is hibernating and stay with her for about two years.
If you are attacked by a predatory bear, lying down just makes it easier for the bear. You might want to slather your body in barbecue sauce if you are feeling generous. A predatory bear will usually approach quietly from behind, so you won't have much time to think about what to do.
Bears also dislike the strong scent of pine-based cleaners, but avoid using anything with a fresh, lemony or fruity smell. And never mix bleach and ammonia; the combination produces fumes that can be deadly to both people and bears.

Ursus-Canis (Presumably [Ursus] Americanus). — Half bear half dog, a remarkable prodigy of nature, was brought to the city [Denver, Colorado] Wednesday morning from Nebraska by I. Pinter. It is the only known example of the crossing of the dog and bear families.
As most people know the danger of eating black bears is the parasite Trichinosis. Trichinosis is a roundworm parasite that lives in the muscle tissues of large carnivores and omnivores such as mountain lions, grizzlies, pigs, wild hogs, and of course, black bears.
She recognizes them for several years, possibly indefinitely, allowing them to remain in parts of her territory which she then avoids.
Additionally, male bears don't recognize their own offspring; they regard other bears as competition. The entire responsibility for raising, feeding, and protecting the cubs falls to the mother. Male black bears aren't going to win “Father of the Year” awards—but our male human supporters would!

The Most Aggressive Months for Grizzly Bears
Non-contact methods rely primarily on making loud noises (such as yelling, using an air horn or whistle), or motion-activated devices like visual and audio alarms or water sprinklers, which can deter bears without anyone being present.
Body language is important too. Workers at our Romanian and Pakistan bear sanctuaries report the rescued bears jumping up and down with happiness when they smell their favourite foods or see their favourite people.
Slowly back away, avoid direct eye contact and do not run. If a bear stands on its hind legs or moves closer, it may be trying to get a better view or detect scents in the air. It is usually not a threatening behavior. Black bears will sometimes “bluff charge” when cornered, threatened, or attempting to steal food.
By results I mean more bears and more commitment from them. My favorite baits include: cookies, donuts, popped popcorn, dogfood, candy (gummy, licorice, jelly beans), bread, frostings, sugary toppings, fruit, fruit toppings, meat scraps, beef/pork fat and grease.
Predatory bears are very different than surprised or defensive bears. If you encounter a bear that's curious or stalks you like a predator, be ready to fight. Do NOT run. Stalking and curious bears are not in a defensive mindset like a surprised bear.
