In most versions of the tale, Guinevere's love for Lancelot exceeds her love of Arthur. In modern retellings, such as the musical Camelot, there is still affection between Guinevere and her husband, but she harbors passionate love only for Lancelot.
Guinevere was the wife of King Arthur, the legendary ruler of Britain. She was a beautiful and noble queen, but her life took a tragic turn when she fell in love with Lancelot, one of Arthur's bravest and most loyal knights.
At first, Guinevere is implied as the love interest of Merlin (who is far younger in the series than in usual tales) and is also shown as having an attraction to Lancelot. However, in this version of the story, Guinevere's true love is Arthur.

In later versions, a passionate love affair is established not with Mordred but with Lancelot, the greatest knight of King Arthur's court.
The marriage is partly out of admiration for the king and partly for security against Malagant, but also because she does love Arthur despite their 35-year age difference. While on route to Camelot, Guinevere's carriage is ambushed by a group of Malagant's soldiers.
In Malory's sprawling work, Elaine (or Elayne) is the name of five women with overlapping identities. The best known and most cited of these is Elaine Le Blank, known as the Fair Maid of Astolat, who falls in love with Lancelot, provokes Guinevere's jealousy, and eventually dies of love for the knight.
Their Marriage
Arthur was staying with King Leodegrance of a nearby kingdom. Arthur met his daughter Guinevere, and fell instantly in love. Merlin tried to persuade Arthur against marrying her, telling him that she would lead to his and his country's ruin. Arthur loved her too much, and married her anyway.
Guinevere married Arthur Pendragon on month day 1262, at age 27 in marriage place. Arthur was born on July 4 1230, in Camelot. Her occupations were occupation and occupation.
Guinevere is often portrayed as being at least a few years older than Lancelot—and notably childless.
Lancelot immediately bowed to the king and begged forgiveness. Arthur laughed, and said he'd heard that Lancelot was on his way to Camelot, and came to meet him to test his skills. Arthur said Lancelot had nothing to be sorry for, and knighted him on the spot.
In this telling she betrayed him for personal ambition. Arthur didn't want to be King and Lancelot did so she went with the one who'd make her Queen.
Lancelot, also spelled Launcelot, also called Lancelot of the Lake, French Lancelot du Lac, one of the greatest knights in Arthurian romance; he was the lover of Arthur's queen, Guinevere, and was the father of the pure knight Sir Galahad.
Not a simple question. In Perlesvaus, a early Grail romance, Arthur and Guinevere have a son named Loholt, who is slain by Sir Kay.
Kyduan was not the only child of Arthur according to Welsh Arthurian tradition – he is also ascribed sons called Amr (Amhar), Gwydre, Llacheu and Duran. (See the Offspring section for further information about Arthur's children.)
It is important to note that none of the actual plot surrounding Lancelot and Guinevere's love affair is original to Malory; for the most part, he remains faithful to his sources, imparting only those things that are written elsewhere.
Lancelot was the greatest knight of the Round Table and Arthur's most trusted ally, but it was his illicit love for Queen Guinevere that made him famous.
In Chapter 18:1, Arthur first sees Guinevere and falls instantly in love with her. In 18:3, he tells Merlin he will have only Guinevere as his wife. Merlin warns him that she will not be faithful but will fall in love with a knight called Lancelot, and he with her, and they will betray him.
Gawain, hero of Arthurian legend and romance. A nephew and loyal supporter of King Arthur, Gawain appeared in the earliest Arthurian literature as a model of knightly perfection, against whom all other knights were measured.
One of these knights was Sir Lancelot. He was Arthur's best friend.
Last week, we talked a little about Arthur's reactions in “Lancelot and Guinevere.” When Guinevere was accused of murder, Arthur was able to be impartial, and try to provide a fair judgement to the accused and the accuser. Though he was saddened, his judgement was calm and reasonable.
Guinevere is Arthur's wife and queen; according to the Vulgate Cycle and Malory, she is the daughter of Leodegrance of Carmelide. Though one of the Welsh Triads (Triad 56) speaks of Arthur's three great queens (all named Gwenhwyfar), later romance generally gives him only one wife named Guinevere.
