Can you use it on squeaky wood? You can use WD-40 on squeaky wood if the cause of the noise is friction between floorboards. Since the product is a lubricant, it'll stop the friction. However, you'll have to constantly reapply the product after it dries.
Shine it with WD-40
Take a clean rag, spray a generous amount of WD-40 on it, and rub it all over the wooden furniture thoroughly. WD-40 will expertly clean up the wood, and ensure extended protection of the furniture in the long run.

We don't advise spraying the wood directly as this may cause the wood to absord the liquid and swell. Our advice would be to test on a scrap piece of wood first to assess if you are satisfied with the outcome!
Spirit and waterbased stains would be unaffected, it doesn't interact with most varnish (especially modern ones made using synthetic resins), it has zero effect on shellac, most lacquers and all the waterbased finishes I can think of. It will strip away wax however, because mineral spirits is a solvent for wax.
Here are some tips for silencing the squeak: Sprinkle baby powder, baking soda or powdered graphite over the squeaky floorboard and work it into the seams. This will lubricate the wood and should keep the floorboards from rubbing together and squeaking.
The easiest solution is to apply lubrication. Identify the squeaky floor boards and then apply a generous amount of powdered soapstone, talcum powder, or powdered graphite between the boards. Place a cloth or towel over the area and work the powder in by stepping on the towel.
If the squeaks continue, spray those slats and the frame that is holding them in place with WD-40. If the squeaks persist, turn the box spring upside down, remove the muslin dust cover and spray all wood joints with WD-40. This will work.
