The symptoms of a yeast infection depend on where it happens on your body. Common symptoms are a rash, white discharge, or itching. Yeast infections are treated with medicated ointments or other anti-yeast (antifungal) preparations.
Invasive candidiasis is an infection caused by a yeast (a type of fungus) called Candida. Unlike Candida infections in the mouth and throat (also called “thrush”) or vaginal “yeast infections,” invasive candidiasis is a serious infection that can affect the blood, heart, brain, eyes, bones, and other parts of the body.

Examples include a catheter draining fluid from your body or an IV that delivers nutrition or medication.
A yeast infection causes burning, itching, redness in your vulva (the outside parts of your vagina) and changes to your vaginal discharge. A yeast infection isn't a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Other names for a vaginal yeast infection include vulvovaginal candidiasis or vaginal candidiasis.

If a person needs prompt medical attention for a yeast infection, they should visit an urgent care center instead of an emergency department. The emergency department is primarily for health issues that cannot wait, such as broken bones, or symptoms that could be life threatening, such as chest pain.
Yeast infections are characterized by recurrent and continued itching. You will notice that the itching has subsided, eliminating much of the discomfort. Finally, all irritation, inflammation, or redness will go away. The appearance and feel of your genitals will return to normal.
Untreated yeast infections can sometimes progress into more serious infections, leading to redness, swelling, and cracks or sores around your vagina. These severe infections are still treatable, but they are much more uncomfortable and take longer to clear up.

Skin Infections
They are most frequently caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and coryneform bacteria. Impetigo, folliculitis, boils, and erythrasma are common examples. Systemic infections may also have skin manifestations.
