Winter Sale Australia : Third Monday in June

Although the winter sale period in Australia is not exactly defined by law, as is the case in some other countries, in general the third Monday in June is traditionally the start of the Winter Sale period. Australia's biggest department stores, David Jones and Myer, take the lead and other stores follow. Both online and brick and mortar stores offer great discounts to make room for the new sprin/summer collections to arrive. The Winter Sale period lasts until the last week of August.

 

Some critics say that the traditional sales periods no longer exist in Australia. Based on differences in legislation between the different states and territories and due to company interests, bargains are offered all year round.
